Your defense resistance is really low. Without Grant Cover you really need to slot Active defense with several Membranes to enhance the defense resistance and double stack it. I also highly recommend Grant Cover, not only does it give a nice defense bonus to your fellow meleers, it also grants defense resistance, which no other buff I know off does.

Any High end build is going to be about making trade-offs.

But you're a Scrapper, which should mean Offense first, and the attack chain here suffers.
Touch of Death might have good set bonuses, but the overall recharge it offers is only 43%, which frankly sucks and Smite at the very least deserves better.

PS- Also on a personal note I'd suggest taking Phalanx Fighting before One with the Shield (or even Grant Cover) and with that one trade you could give Smite what it needs, which is a good set of Hecatombs

One thing I saw Silverado, is replace group fly with Phalanx Fighting. Phalanx fighting when solo gives you 3.75% Defense. So that is more then Blessing of the Zephyr set bonuse and you can put a LoTG +7.5% and gives you 2 more slots to play with.

Are you sure? Mids only shows the defense buff starting at 1 ally in range, I've never used the power so I don't know how it works :-/

Prey is correct on Phalanx Fighting. It adds a small bonus even when no one is around.

Yes you need to edit your database in mids.

it will be under Options, Advanced, Database editor

after that it will open up a small window, the Top button will be Main Database Edito click on that.

Then a big white widow will open up and find scrappers Defense and click and then click on Shield Defense and then click on Phalanx fighting and hit edit, button on bottom.

That will open up a new window. If you look in the lower left you should see a Power Scaling set it for 0 to 3, and that will show you in mids that you get 3.75% def solo. You also need to do it for tanks and brutes.

Hey Silverado,

Here's a slightly modified version of my build that uses Boxing as a mule. I'm really wrestling with the idea of respeccing into this right now and would like to know what you guys think. The end result is a pretty sizable increase in Acc but that's only gonna really matter when Soul Drain misses. Still it would be nice. Other benefits are a few more HP and a very small increase in overall recovery. The only real cons are a minor drop in dam bonus of 4% and falling just shy of the softcap on AoE.

Ugh, sorry for the double post but I solved the tiny issue I had with the previous build I posted and wanted to share. Moving the last slot out of Weave and putting it into Combat Jumping. Slot it with an Enzyme and you make up the defense, bringing everything back to the softcap while still granting a sizable acc bonus. The only loss is 4% damage which is worth it I think.

Ahhh, ok. I was slotting it for the defense I could get from Siphon Insight, but if I use Touch of Death its still soft-capped. thanx for the advise!!

Couple comments, and I"m by no means an expert. First if you plan on always having teammates around then, yes you are softcapped, but turn off phalanx fighting to get the picture of where you're at while soloing. Second, this is an f'n expensive build (by my standards at least. If you got the cash, great, but some of those are overprice for the sake of being overpriced.

Right now, i'm almost to 50 with my dm/sd scrap and i love him, i still need to finish my numina's set and one more oblits set, but he's already a beast.

And my solution to softcapping while soloing was a sacrifice some wouldn't make, maneuvers. So I can't fit in hasten but i'm still quite happy w/ the build.
