Windows 7 + ZBoard numpad
'fraid I don't use a z-board, my keyboards have numpads built into them for both my desktop and laptop, and they work a-ok on Win 7 for both machines.
Damage Proc Mini-FAQ
Just noticed Damage Proc Mini-FAQ wasn't working with new forums, it's been updated.
... silly question -
Did you transfer your binds over to your windows 7 install?
I ask because I play my MMs with a specific set of binds that keeps reloading depending on minion type, and without the files to load, it won't know what to do.
Also, you say it's just sending numbers - is it sending them into chat? It'd have to be entering "enter" or some such for that.
Either way, I'd say your binds sound messed up. Do you have numpad binds set up for a character that isn't a mastermind? (Say, someone with them set to macros with a saying and an attack, something that wouldn't be continually reloaded but would be stored on the server?)
If not, pick a (non MM) character you don't use the numpad with, pick a few keys and bind them with just some local nonsense ("This is key 1,") go into your supergroup base and test it out, see if they work - then restart COH and see if they still work.
Just trying to give you a few things to determine if it's actually the ZBoard or if it's the binds. I can't see why a ZBoard would treat the numpad any differently... but then again, I don't have a ZBoard (G15 here, first gen)
Nope, it's not the binds. And it's not actually a CoX issue, either. By saying it's just sending numbers, what I mean is that the OS is interpretting the numpad numbers to be the exact same as the qwerty keyboard numbers. It's a built-in numpad, but it always was handled correctly under XP and Vista.
To be clear, I'll give an example. Two of my binds are as follows:
1 "powexec_slot 1"
NUMPAD1 "petcom_all Follow Passive"
When I hit the number pad 1 key, the power in slot 1 is triggered.
The OS is sending the number pad keystrokes as non-number pad keystrokes. It's as though the OS doesn't know the difference. Since Natsuki has said they are working fine, however, I don't think the OS can actually be doing that.
Thanks for the input.

Ahh, ok, that makes more (well, less given how it's being handled) sense. I know my MM was working properly using numpad binds in win7. I'd modify your topic slightly and specify zboard - and perhaps check their forums as well to see if anyone's having similar issues in win7.
Yeah, I posted to the Windows 7 forums as well. Oddly, the company that made Z-boards when I bought mine has been bought out or changed its name or something and now has no boards (It's like SteelSomethingorother now).
You could very well be right about the thread title, but as of yet I've only heard from two people saying theirs is fine, so I'm not sure it is only Z-board. If more people chime in saying it's not happening with their [whatever] keyboards, I'll do that. Good idea.

SteelSeries, formerly Ideazon. Yeah.
I can only give info about three of them - the G15, another generic Logitech, and a generic HP keyboard. Actually, I might suggest asking down in the MM forums if anyone there uses that same keyboard and sees the same thing - if anyone uses keypad macros heavily, that'd be the place to find them.
Bill, when do you ever find time to actually play? Every time I've been on the boards for some time now, you're always the first person helping anyone out.
The MM boards. Why the heck didn't I think of that? Great idea. Thanks hugely.

Also, playing in windowed mode its a lot easier to access multiple tasks at once. I'm often on the forums in between missions. Or if I'm just sitting in Mercy buffing lowbies I'll have the forums up at the same time.

I just installed Windows 7 and I love it but I'm noticing a very subtle problem that will only be a problem when playing CoX. When I use the numeric keypad (numpad), it sends the keystrokes as regular numbers. This never happened under XP or Vista. I guess the OS is reading my ZBoard numpad as regular number keys, but it means all my NUMPAD keybinds are lost. I use those for my MMs and defenses so it's a real loss. Has anyone else who has the W7 OS running noticed this? And has anyone who has noticed this found a fix? I'm using the latest ZBoard driver and W7 build 7100. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated.
Thanks.
