Updater won't load?
Viruses usually damage your data and programs. Removing the virus doesn't undo the damage. My friends usually flatten the hard drive and start over (reinstalling everything)
The plastic tips at the end of shoelaces are called aglets. Their true purpose is sinister.

So should I reinstall? I don't have the CDs for the game anymore.

Every time I try to start up the CoH updater, it acts like it will load, then it closes and restarts itself.

So you're not even getting to the point where you have the option of "Verify All Files"? You need to get a new copy of the updater off the FTP site. Hopefully someone will come along shortly to tell us where (since I have no clue). Once the updater runs, you can have it verify all files and replace any corrupted ones.

Oh, ok. I just need to get a new copy of the updater? I'll look around some and see if I can find one.

Click on My Account, then log in. Click on your game ID for the CoH game. You should see a "download updater" link on your account summary page.
"City of Heroes. April 27, 2004 - August 31, 2012. Obliterated not with a weapon of mass destruction, not by an all-powerful supervillain... but by a cold-hearted and cowardly corporate suck-up."
Sweet thanks Train. I'll try it and report back.
I just now got the chance to try it, and it is still doing the same thing. It runs, then closes, then restarts itself over and over again. I had it going for 30 mins like that, and still nothing.
Any other advice?
Ok, I think I got it. I messed up my computer and had to dump the old OS. Oh well, thats life.
So, how can I get CoH up again? Just drop it in an empty folder and let it reverify all the files?
*update*
Ok, whenever I start up the CoHUpdater.exe, it adds a folder called logs, CoHUpdater.PRV and CohUpdater_UI_Win.dll.
I'm confused.
It's been doing that since we got mac support I think.
Ok, I found this in the logg folder, in a thing called net_disconnect:
05-24-2009 03:43:46 75408 8 disconnect error 10053:An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine.

So could it be a network problem, or the virus still?
Ah ha! I got it! I guess it was a virus, or sometinhg. But after I cleaned it and dumped all the cookies, it started dpwnloading. Thank you all for your help, for those who gave it.
I'm in a bit of a fix here, hope you guys can lend a hand.
Every time I try to start up the CoH updater, it acts like it will load, then it closes and restarts itself. I recently had a virus attack(was pretty nasty too) but was able to get rid of it I think, but maybe not all the way. It started happening right after I got the virus attack, maybe that is what is causing it?
It seems like something is blocking it, I don't know how to check and see if the computer is blocking it for not.
I would be grateful if anyway has any info or advice.
