I see it in builds, here onthe forums, but in game play, I can't see why to take it...that is Mass Hypnosis.

What am I missing? Is it just to slot IO sets?

Slot IO Sets, such as the purples, are incredibly inexpensive to get a good amount of +recharge for perma-dom.

In addition, Recluse Strike Force. Perma-Dom + Mass Hypnosis = Perma-Slept Heroes = Easy RSF.

Just noticed Damage Proc Mini-FAQ wasn't working with new forums, it's been updated.

It doesn't aggro, it has a good area, it's perma with DOs and it's a great way to get adds to shut up and rack off. You can probably go to 26 without it, but I wouldn't want to.

All the above reasons.

Plus, really - don't assume you're going to use it all on one group. Have a patrol coming up from behind? Hit them with that and go back to the first group. Clean them up later.

Mass hypnosis is also an effective aggro killer. I've found it useful on my mind/energy to help with titghtly packed groups. Mass hypno one group, aggro the other and deal with them. Then go get the other group.

Nice solo or on 8 man teams for that reason..if everyone understands the strategy.

It also lacks the normal -ToHit penalty of other AOE controls.

In a well coordinated team, or when soloing it can be godlike as a setup power. On most teams it's main use is to keep a nearby spawn from jumping into the fight. *won't* prevent aggro, slept mobs will still aggro, they just can't do anything about it .

Mass Hypnosis is one of the jewels of Mind control. There are so many uses for this power, but the most common is to sleep a group (or incoming patrol). It does a great job of managing aggro. Being non-aggro itself means that you don't have to worry about this power getting you killed.

Oh, yes, and if you hang around with super strength brutes? It's the best way to respond to the warning of 'Rage Crash'.
