Linking NC account to Steam problem

A friend of mine recently bought a new lab top to play CoX. She has the Steam client and bought the Architect edition through Steam. But when she tries to launch from steam, Steam client gives her the message that the game is currently unavailable. Is there a problem here? why won't it launch normally when its installed?

This is on a Vista OS

Have her restart the Steam client. Most of the time, that fixes the "unavailable" issue, but if for some reason it doesn't, she should be contacting Steam customer support, as not many here will know what to do about that.

If she runs Nod32 AV, you might want to put the Steam directory in its whitelist. I had a lot of Steam game problems previous to doing that. Just a thought.

If you're on Vista you can run Steam as admin. Right click on the Steam icon and then select' Run as Admin'

Or

Disable Vista UAC.

I had this problem too. Both solutions solved the problem.

How was the issue resolved? (We in Tech Issues and Player Questions like to know how things get resolved, so that we can tell people in the future if they seem to be having similar problems.)
