Ventrilo and Push-to-Talk in CoH

When I am running CoH I cannot use push-to-talk for Ventrilo. I can hear everyone else in Vent fine, but no one can hear me. If I alt+tab out it works fine, but within the game window: no dice.

I have push-to-talk bound to Mouse5 which I don't see bound to anything in-game. I also tried binding it to ` and v (unbinding v in game) still to no effect.

Even if I set Ventrilo off push-to-talk (just always on) no one can hear me when I'm playing in CoH but if I alt+tab out it's fine.

Has anyone else had this issue? How do I solve it?

if you are using vista then you will need to right click on your vent shortcut and select run as admin for it to work properly when the game is in the forefront on you pc. it should work properly then. hope that helps you

I play on my PC most of the time, but sometimes on my Mac Laptop. Does anyone know how to get Mac to recognize ventrilo's push-to-talk while it's running in the background of CoH or other full screen games? It may be a setting somewhere, but I've yet to find it. If not I may just stick to muting my microphone by hand and keeping it open mic all the time >.<

I'm experiencing the same difficulties as you. Found this site which still hasn't helped me but it may work for/help you.

what operating system are you guys running? if it is vista you need to run vent in admin mode. right click on it and go to properties and check run as admin and you should have no problems.

For future reference, if you are computer savy and are smart enough to not download viruses or other malicious software...... turn user account control off or to a minimum.
