Hiyas -

Im considering dusting off my widow and prepping it for PvP. Is it worth the effort ? Ive havent pvp'ed in a couple issues now so no idea the state of the game there.

If not - any advice on what to go for ? I do have a ss fire brute I can focus on as well.

Thanks.

It made sense to roll them in i13, now - no. Widows got elusivity and dmg nerf. No holds, no dmg, no real defense - why trying really?
SS/fire doesn't sound bad actually if you go for melee fights. It would be really helpfull though if you would tell ppl here what you like to play.

No, it's not worth the effort. Like EnD said, they suck on all fronts. Weak damage, no real holds, and no noticeable defensive abilities, now that defense is a joke. It's like playing a stalker that 1. can be seen at all times, 2. does half the damage of a normal stalker, and 3. has zero defenses, unlike a stalker.

It sucks, cuz my fort was my main toon before I14.

It's still fun to use for fights with friends, but for general pvp, a Widow is pretty much an exercise in frustration now. I'd go with that brute of yours, sounds a lot more viable.

its sad too because pre i13 forts where alot more fun to pvp with now all it does is frustrate you man they took so much fun from this game and i dont think they realize it

Thanks for the replies

Bummer on the Widow being weak.

Primarily I'd like to zone PvP. In the past I like having toons with mez protection as they tended to be the most consistent for me. However it seems likes blasters and corruptors are strong pvp'ers atm. Though it sounds like stalkers are really strong atm as well.

I can pick a new AT and set and work on it I dont mind that.

An ss/fire brute would do very well in zone PvP, especially sirens. So would any stalker.

Corrs are a lot harder, since basically the whole zone will go only after you. When it's 5 brutes, 10 stalkers, and 1 corr....you can guess who will be the target of literally every single opposing player in the zone. Because of this, corrs (or squishies in general) usually only thrive in large groups.

This is so true it's not even funny. Going solo as a Corr is not a viable option.

Slightly off topic - Ive gotten the basic info on the PvP IO's. Would you folks conisder these good for pvp builds ? A couple sets look good, but a few look somewhat blah. But I am quite out of practice.

When I PvP now on my Fire/SS tank, I feast on widows (any VEAT for that matter). I highly wouldn't recommend them for PvP.

A few reasons, some of the bonus's are better then regular sets(Although i dont commonly use the sets either); A few of the uniques are outstanding; and the +Range set bonus is really nice.... /wrist, TP droned from over 550 yards away /sigh
