Empty Map

I am trying to make a tomb raid. I would like the character to come into an empty map that stays completely empty everywhere on the map with no bad guys at all until a glowie is clicked (wood coffin) that will trigger a boss fight, ambushes, all that. I've tried maxing the number of glowies and different combinations of bosses that appear when glowie is clicked and ambushes that appear when glowie is clicked and boss is at various health. But no matter what I try, there are always enemies on the map when I start. How do I get an empty map with no bad guys in it?

Really vexing this. I hope there is someone there that can help.

I tried to do this also with one of my arcs, and it just didn't work out. Much to my dismay. Seems impossible to have just a "Sneak around and gather evidence" arc.

I've noticed a map can be devoid of standard spawns if you maximize the number of Patrol objectives. Granted, it's no longer empty at that point.

Some objects take up spawn points, as do ambushes and patrols, but I think the per-map limitations on these make it impossible to occupy every spawn point and have an empty map.

It is (or at least was pre last patch) certainly possible, (I haven't verified it since the patch)
I have one in my 'Nation Goes Rogue' Arc.

The set-up is a specific small council map.
6 Glowies (not required) - Bodybags with a useful but not essential clue attached.
1 Glowie (required) - a Computer which has the data recording.

Triggering the glowie spawns 9 'boss' defeats in each of the 9 possible spawn points on that map.

Its a limited sub-section of the maps that can be set-up this way, you have to choose fairly carefully from the possibilities, to make sure every spawn point can be a 'boss' one.

OK thanks. How do I determine the number of spawn points a map has? The only info it gives me is the number of wall items floor items glowies, etc. I have never seen a spawn point number on the maps.

I've always seen it in the form:
X number of 'Any' objectives
X number of 'Defeat Boss/Destroy Object' objectives
X number of 'Rescue Hostage/Ally' objectives
X number of Floor Clickies
X number of Wall Clickies

The numbers you should be concerned with here are the first 3; you'll need to make sure that all of those are filled in order to make sure that nothing spawns on the map until you're ready for it. Ideally you'll want a map with as few as possible 'Rescue/Escort Ally' spawn points, since you have to fill those with something too, or they'll fill with normal mobs.

Fill the map with destructible objects till it says you have too many. Remove one object and you are set. No mobs will spawn anywhere on the map.

At least that worked for one of mine.

It works much better on small maps than large ones, the larger ones may have more spawns than details that you can add.
