Faster Way to Install?

Follow these directions to the letter, assuming you already have CoH installed on at least one computer. It works flawlessly and takes a matter of a few minutes. Much, much shorter than downloading the whole thing.
Do you still have it installed on your previous computer?
If so you can do the following:
1. Backup your install directory on your old computer, to a big enough flash drive or DVD.
2. Run the installer that you download on you laptop. (You have already done this).
3. Stop the installer about 2-3 minutes in.
4. Copy you backed up files to your new install directory on your laptop.
5. Go in and delete the Coh.checksum file.
6. Re-run your installer. This should verify your files and correct any that might be "corrupted" (corrupted is the best word that I can come up with).

I copied over all files using a Thumb Drive. Unfortunately, it didn't help at all. It's still installing the actual full game

Hmmm. Not sure what to tell you, if you followed the directions in that link. I just did it a couple of days ago, and it worked just fine.
Might need to delete the whole directory on your laptop and start again from the beginning, also deleting any City of Heroes Icons that might have popped up on your desktop...
I had trouble the first couple of times trying to do this as well

Has an icon named "City of Heroes" popped up on your desktop yet? Instead of running the installer try running this one instead

Are you using the Updater that you had originally downloaded? If you followed the directions in the link I provided, you shouldn't be. If you are, that's why it's trying to download the game. (The directions that the other poster provided should work too, provided you STOP the updater. But if you've done that and it's not working for you, read the post I linked to and follow the directions there.)
I'm not sure if I'm doing this right, but I recently got a brand new gaming laptop. My situation is that I don't have the game disks; the only way I ever got the game was by downloading it straight from my Account Page.
I downloaded the installer, but it's been taking me all day so far--and it's not even half-way.
