A Three MArc Limit Alternative
Interesting idea. But, you're forgetting about overhead. That alone kills the idea of doing it the way you suggested.
the file size has little to do with number of missions and is mostly custom critters.
Qr - so give us 300k then. As many arcs as you like as long as they all come under 300k.

MArcs:
The Echo, Arc ID 1688 (5mish, easy, drama)
The Audition, Arc ID 221240 (6 mish, complex mech, comedy)
Storming Citadel, Arc ID 379488 (lowbie, 1mish, 10-min timed)
Another alternative is to simply rotate your arcs.
Every week or so, pull 'em down and put up others. Just keep cycling them over and over.
Obviously, this will hurt your chances of getting Hall of Fame, but it would keep your stories out there, fresh, and you have no limit to the number of arcs you can make!
Plus, you could still get Dev Choiced! Esp. if you have people all over the boards asking "where did XXXX arc go? It was awesome!"

Craft your inventions in AE!!
Play "Crafter's Cafe" - Arc #487283. A 1 mission, NON-COMBAT AE arc with workable invention tables!
As I experiment with the MA my creative juices get flowing and ideas keep coming to me. I have already published two short arcs and the ideas keep on coming. Soon I'll have to unpublish something when I present a new story.
The limits on story arcs are there for a reason but I think they can be modified a bit.
Each story arc can have five missions and a player can publish three arcs. That's 15 missions.
What if we didn't have a 3 arc limit but a 15 mission limit? Each person's file-size limit (server space) should be approximately the same but people would have more flexibility.
For example: I have two arcs published. The first is three missions long and the other is one mission. Working with missions rather than arcs I could publish 11 more times instead of once - as long as the material fit the 100k(?)/5 mission limits.
What do you think?
