PVE Fortunata? Where'd they all go?
I have a Fortunata that I play on Infinity all the time. Currently lvl 33. He's great on teams and a lot of fun. I went with a balance of controls, team buffs, and damage.
My second build is a Night Widow, but I find myself playing my Fortunata about 90% of the time. He feels like a combo between a Mind Dominator and Psy Defender/Blaster.
My pure fort is pure pve now that i14 is here to stay. The DPS is nice for both aoe and ST damage. It's nothing like a crab or a brute, but it's also a lot safer.

Did I only see them in abundance because they were leveling up to move to PVP? I couldn't tell you the last time I saw a pure fort in PVE.

You mean Forts having no aoe for pve purposes or??
Mine is for pve I guess. I have two aoe, two assaults, maneuver and tactics too.
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
My Fort is a pure Fort and I play her all the time. Course were
so many people are doing MA projects (either to PL some alt
or just make/play them for badges) many that didn't consider
there Forts there "main" arn't getting much play I'll suspect.
Give it a few weeks for the "newness" of MA to wear off.
Huh, my Fort gets played regularly on Guardian, by herself since I usually can't find a team. I PvE with her only and it's fun. One of my favorite toons actually. Love the combo of ranged offense, controls and defense
That's good to know that there are still a few out there. I'm on Freedom and hardly EVER see any.
My widows 2nd build is a fort. I've been playing the second build for quite a while now trying to get her enhmts worked out.
I'm finding her every bit as fun as the first build
I can't get over how much better Veats are than Heats.
My favorite part is how evil I feel at taking joy when a team member goes down and I click vengeance; and proceed to wipe the mobs mwahaha >
Spines/ D A lvl 50 Scrap, stone/wm lvl 50 tank, Kat/reg lvl 50 Scrap
Grav/Kin lvl 50 Cont, Fire/Enegry lvl 50 Blast
Warshade lvl 50, PB lvl 39, nightwidow lvl 50, crab lvl 42
plant/thorns lvl 50 dom, ice/fire lvl 40 dom, grav/nrg lvl 41 dom
I play my Fort for at least a few missions whenever I log in on Triumph. The mix of control and damage is amazing and the team buffs really help whenever I form one. Her second build is a Night Widow but the "Kill it! Kill it! MOAR DAMAGE!" style isn't really my thing. I like having some other forms of mitigation.

Personal opinion, I'm sure, 'cause I'll run my Peacebringer or Warshade over my Widow or Soldier any day of the week.

You are not serious right? I've tried HEAT 3 times and they couldn't get past lvl 14... T_T
I feel HEAT is kinda weak. I've teamed with a few of them at lvl 50 and they all seem kinda weak but hey, I am sure some people like them a lot. I can't get into shape shifting especially I have to individually slot each power/attack.

I like my VEATs and Khelds for different reasons - if I want that evil "blow everything up" feeling, though, my Warshade is the first character I'll bring along. Only bad thing about being resist-based over defense-based is that on the ITF I ran last night, my 185% global recharge got turned into -120% very quickly (Nebulous Form ftw though!).
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."

Definitely personal opinion as I have not quantified the differences, it's just a feeling I get. I will submit that my warshade is capable of huge damage and occasional moments of great defense.
But both versions of my widow seem near untouchable and are rarely in danger and not nearly as dependant on team size or make up, and can truely turn the tide of a loosing battle. but I enjoy all of them the Veats a bit more than the Heats. Again ymmv.
