High-level Content

I've noticed that the best thing anyone can look forward to at level 50 is Recluse's Victory, or losing several of your hard-earned powers to fight in other PvP zones or TF's, or fighting grays for no reward. Once the novelty of that wears off, you get to... make a new toon in a different AT and start over again.

I'm wondering if we can't get a new lvl 50 zone, to put those powers to good use. Something like more unlockable weapons or some accolade powers or something that feels like progress after you hit the actual end of progress. It would seem to me that playing for playing's sake is pretty hollow, and anything else would be a nice aside.

Any comments?

Expand "Level 50 zone." As in just for 50s? No.

Just plain old "More content?" Sure. Though I'd say the villainside content in general needs expanding first, especially with more low level variety.

It does get me down sometimes when the trainers tell me there is nothing more they can do for me, that I'm truly a hero...

If that's true, why do I stop getting any important jobs?

Have you run a 'lap' of the Storm Palace ?

Have you run all of the 3 Shard Task forces that keep you at level 50 ?

Do you have your Masters of the STF badge ?

No, I'm just looking down the line, when I have done all that stuff. It seems like all you can do at the very end of the endgame is sit on your haunches and manage an SG or rely on job satisfaction to keep you going.

Pretty dreary if you ask me.

have you gone through the MA at all? there is plenty for a 50 to do there. andbefore you even start with the whole "farm" thing, there are plenty of good arc's in there that aren't farming. you can also use your 50 to join teams that are running regular content ta that lv. badges, badges, badges. and you do realize when you exemp you dont loose slots so it makes running the lower content a bit more fun. again, there is plenty of stuff ot keep a 50 busy unless you're playing 24/7 which isn't healthy.

You've got a point there, Sharker. MA is a bit punishing on soloers, though. And the part about non-canonicity sort of irks me a bit.

For me, and I know this sentiment is shared by some others I play with, the 'Endgame' content of CoX starts at level 40.

From 40 to 50 you can:
Prevent Crey and Nemesis opening a portal and unleashing Creatures from the Shadow Shard on Earth
Defeat a Demi-god (Ruladek)
Save a Demi-god (Faathim)
Defeat the madness that Shattered the Shard (Lanaru the mad)
Prevent a 2nd Rikti Invasion
Prevent the 5th Column from setting up a base of operations in the past
Stop Lord Recluse from drawing power from every Superpowered being on the planet
Arrest the Evil leader of Crey Corporation
Defeat not one but two Malta plots
Stop Nemesis (mutliple times *sigh*)
Prevent a Preatorian Incursion into our Dimension, including defeated their Statesman Equivalent

(and thats not even close to everything)

The one thing about any game, the true endgame really is just that. The End of the game.

On a side scroller you have defeated the final level and get a nice happy 'Game over' floating up.
In UFO enemy unknow, you travel to Mars and stop the incursions.
In Civilisation, you reach Alpha Centauri
In Panzer general you inavde the US, or in allied General you defeat the Armies of the Riech.

In 'traditional MMOs' you get into a raiding guild and grind for hours, for a chance of a loot drop. Only to be rigth back there the next day, or week doing the exact same thing. Right up until the next expansion, where you uber lewt is suddenly not the uberest and you go round the treadmill on a new raid(s). Not for me thank you very much.

Outside of 'infinitely' repeatable simple content (such as simple random missions) (ie. scanners/RWZ/Cim), the only way to get more content is to more people generating it, and doing so basically faster than people can play through it. The MA system, is another form of 'endgame content', and I for one am using it extensively to try out new stories and fresh oponents.

So you don't really want more content, you want more that you like. I can understand that, but this game doesn't really work that way. Content for this game is added for ALL levels. If you have run a character up to 50 and done everything with that character just roll another one and do it again. It's not the same running with a different AT/powerset combo. Sure the stories are the same, but you have to play different. My fire/fire tank used to tear nemesis apart, my ice/rad troller, not so much.
