Semi-Plagiarism?
Sorry for the double post, but before anybody jumps on me and goes IF YOU CAN'T MAKE AN ORIGINAL IDEA and waves their scepter around, I just thought an RCR arc would be cool. I have plenty of original ideas. I just didn't want to get banned for playing around.

Note that by based on I basically mean I make RCR but it's in COH. Story, characters and all.

If it's copyrighted/tradmarked material, then the arc could be reported and banned. If you keep doing something like that, you could be banned too.
On the other hand, if the source is obscure enough, it might never get reported. I've never heard of the console game in question before, but there are a lot of console players around here.

you can copy plots - copying names of characters isn't good

From the Issue 14 Architect Release Notes:
"Parodies and derivative works are not allowed."

In the courts, sure. But not in this game. Parodies aren't allowed in the MA, according to the Issue 14 patch notes.

What exactly is the penalty, if any, for "plagiarism" in the AE? I don't mean making my favorite edition of Superman or whatever into a mission. Say I wanted to make an arc based on River City Ransom, though. Would it get deleted? Would I get deleted?

Homage it. Use the concepts, change them enough so they're not copies. ENOUGH, not like "Wulverine" or the things people use, more like Kurt Busiek's Astro City. People are unlikely to report if you work with it well enough.
Dec out.
