Need suggestions for my MA boss
Boss -> LT on Heroic is indeed normal in MA and the wider game
Elite Boss -> Boss on Heroic is a special new 'MA only' thing right now.
AV -> EB depends upon team size and slider setting. The only way to force an AV spawn solo is on Challange setting 5 (Invincible/whatever it is redside).
Now into the realm of what makes a good boss challange is another matter.
At the end of the day I chose to my my arc boss (in "A Nation goes Rogue" #2369) be of Boss rank. He is an nasty offensive powerhouse even as an Lt. A team of course blinks past a typical bosses HP.
As an EB when testing him, he could hammer through any but the best soloists pretty fast.
I went for do-able solo for anyone, and less of a challange for a team, becasue at the end of the day, I want people to finish the arc and arrest him.
Conversly in my other arc out there right now ("Rule of Three - Finale" #1984), which specifically is a revisioning of just the final mission of the Posi TF I took stock EB and boss level opponents, over new custom characters. Being 'stock' they are somewhat better balanced against most classes than a typical custom boss/EB is right now.
After all it is the "final mission of a Task Force" and so at least a duo is expected.
One other approach I have come accross in several arcs from otehrs I have run is to have a non-required helper. Get a Custom boss/Lt on yoru side, and then facing an EB/boss is less of an issue, even for the damage poor characters. Making in non-required means they can be skipped for the challange, but the help is there if you wish it to be.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll leave him for a bit then unless I get some feedback from people. The minions have proven they could be a handful because I gave some the Fire Blast set, which means they have defiance and can attack when held. What a surprise! I like it though. It means a controller's holds are still very useful, but doesn't fully remove all danger from the encounter. And the other minions can be dangerous if you're not cautious. Overall, I like the difficulty of the MA characters. Well, as long as they're not ramped up too much where they become impossible.

The only problem with defeating the Tsoo is that an hour later, you want to defeat them again!

if you want a tougher boss - add an ally
an ally makes a huge difference to a soloer and not much difference to a team, so it works nicely to allow tougher bosses.
The arc in question the one listed in your sig ?
If not then whats the ID and I'll run it this weekend and see what I think of the bosses.

Yeah, it's the one in my sig. It's listed as long, but there's no defeat alls, so it's just three medium-sized missions. I'd appreciate some advice. I think the minions are OK. The lieutenants aren't quite what I was hoping for, but not too far off, so I don't have concerns over them.
Like I mentioned, the first boss runs if he can't get to you, but I don't mind that too much. The 2nd boss I just don't think is quite right. And there's an ally on the third, which I flagged to be an EB (spawning as a Boss on Heroic), so he's not too much of a concern. I just want the bosses to be challenging, but not brutal. If you can take a look, that'd be totally great!!!

Scrapperwise the 2nd boss was fine if a little on the easy side.
I took my Dom in (yeah I know its a heroic type arc) and she had a good, challenging, but not too touch fight.
Both use knockback as a large part of their mitigation, and he does get knockback back. EB was pitched just right.
Loved the custom group, anyone who reads this I recommend running this arc. It was a whole bunch of fun for me.

Thank you for looking at that Catwhoorg. I tried to send you a thank you in-game, but for some reason just couldn't get a message to you. Thank you!!! I really appreciate you looking at it as I knew I couldn't be objective. I kept the bosses and powers the same, but brushed up the dialog just a little to add some more flavor to it.
I played your arc and loved it. I liked the power combinations you used, and the villains surprised me a few times, giving me a lot of enjoyment. I believe it was the first one in your sig that I tried. I had loads of fun. When an ambush started coming at me, it was a total surprise and gave me a really good time surviving it.
Thanks again!!!

I wrote a 3-mission arc. Each mission has a final boss. The first is ice/ice tanker and seems soloable enough. He does run if he can't get to you, but I'm not sure that's a bad thing. He's supposed to be a bit of a coward anyway.
The 2nd boss is giving me a hard time. He was Dark/Dark Armor, but was too difficult. My earth controller couldn't hold him or damage him enough and died twice while fighting him. So I changed him to Dark/Shield. Even though he's flagged as a boss, he spawned as a lieutenant and was easily held by my controller.
Is it normal to for a boss to spawn as a lieutenant on Heroic difficulty? What's the opinion of keeping it like that so that people who don't want too much of a challenge can still engage him? I like the dark set as a primary, I'm still unsure of the secondary, so I could use some advice. I'd like something that's a moderate challenge on heroic, but scales up with difficulty and team size. Any suggestions on power combos or settings?
