MA power limitations

I was wondering, why certain powersets are not permitted, and why specific powers are gone as well. For example, I wanted to create a mission where i fight my ninja blade/ninjitsu stalker. However, in teh MA, ninja blade isnt available, and there arent any stalker sets with assasin strike.

Granted, assasin strike is kinda mean to grop on someone, but it should be fair game if you use a harder setting.

Jay Doherty: Yes, there was this one night that I was ready to go home but had to drop the browns off at the super bowl before I left for home. While on the throne it hit me. I stayed for a few more hours and that why we have the pain pads in the game.

Ninja Blade is almost identical to Katana, and in fact use the same weapons.

except ninja blade has assasin strike. Or it would if any of them had assasin strike.

I'm pretty sure them eliminating Assassin Strike was entirely intentional. And I'd agree with that. Hide already gives a bonus (except the bugged Ninjitsu, which gives a mega bonus, and even when not in Hide) already. No need to be getting ganked by your own mission.

Dec out.

This post is way to long for what I'm saying, but it's too late for that now.

Two problems with that line of thought:

Assassin strike itself makes things harder for those that would actually be affected by it. If you take a "hard" setting and add assasin strike to it, it'll likely be too hard for the sort of person that feels reasonably challenged by that setting. Some enemies with energy transfer can already inflict more than a scrapper's full health worth in damage. Some powers just completely wreck a player's experience. It's like how an elite boss with rage is suddenly so much more difficult than an elite boss without it. I liken it to taking out a one-foot section of road from an elevated highway. Entertaining when you're not the one eating asphalt.

Second, a problem that I'm sure is much less important, is the presence of an incredible hate for certain game mechanics, such as "stealth strike". The first time I faceplanted against arachnos because of a stealth strike was the last time I intentionally chose any mission that had anything to do with arachnos. Reasonable or not, if I ran into an assassin strike during an architect mission, I'd have to have a [censored] good reason not to instantly quit and 0-star the entire thing. I hate that stuff that much.

On a related note to the original topic, I was disappointed to see my stone-melee custom enemies not being able to use the mallet powers. What the heck is up with that?
