Unable to Create Boss Ambush
Make sure that all of your previous goals have no errors. You can't use a mission goal as a trigger until it is error free. I was staring at the MA for 20 minutes figuring out why I couldn't do it, until I looked up at the Errors notification and realized that my collection objects didn't have a name.
Slapped the name on them and I was good to go. Hope that helps!
Set one of the goals as Defeat All Enemies under Basic Goals. Then you can select the condition for the Boss Fight as Completed: Defeat All Enemies.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

the system doesn't universally work. You can't set some mission types as a trigger. Like you can't trigger off an ambush (and you can't make an ambush required for the mission).
Make sure the map you use allows ambushes. The information on the map you choose shows where it can be placed etc. I've weeded out a lot of things I thought were bugs once I recognized that some maps didn't allow placement in the front of the map but only in the back etc.

The boss won't ambush the player, it will spawn in a random location based on where the Front, Middle or Back locations are on that map. (Also, depending on whether you choose Front, Middle, Back or Any.)
You can set an Ambush to be triggered by the complestion of another objective, but you could only put a boss in it if you create a Custom Group and put only the Boss in it... the detriment being that on some difficulty levels there might be more than one of the Boss I think...? (Wouldn't happen for an EB I imagine, but I've seen more than one Boss in a group.)

On all difficulty levels it will spawn a minimum of three. If there's only one character in the group, it will spawn at least three of those (regardless of whether they're a minion, boss or EB). There's currently no way to make an ambush (or "fight") that will only spawn one. Wish-list for 2.0.

Hey guys. Hopefully you can tell me what I'm doing wrong here. I'm trying to make a situation where you need to clear the map of all enemies, and then a boss ambushes, and you have to defeat him to clear the mission. According to what I'm reading at the MA, it states that this should be done by selecting "This Mission Goal is Created By..." under Boss Settings. Well, I cannot select anything. All it lists is None. (I'm using a custom boss, BTW). The example given is "The player completed the collection objective, which causes the boss to spawn", or something to that effect. Everything I tried just doesn't allow me to create a boss ambush after clearing the room. I even tried creating it under "Create Ambush", but that doesn't let me select am ambush condition, either. What am I doing wrong? HELP!!!
