... Renewal (fiction and such)
Part 5
The crazed creature wanders the ruined landscape, oblivious to what was going on around him. The dead things hadn't attacked in a while, and it wasn't sure why.
Looking around gave it the impression of staring into a cracked mirror, but it wasn't sure why.
It trod onwards. Ever onwards. There was a still standing building in the distance. It had a goal.
It strode forward with a purpose, maybe the first in a long time, but how could you tell time in a place that never changed.
In it's wake, the shards of its essence fought amongst themselves. The shattered and broken reflections of what he is, what he was and what he could have been. Parts of his essence that he was no longer strong enough to contain. The shards fought amongst themselves for what little bits of energy they could drain off each other.
The crazed and twisted creature that had been known by many names over a very longtime, but most recently known as Lou, wandered towards shelter, not seeing the parts of himself he had lost.

Part 6
--The following is taken from the personal notes of the being known as Dark Watcher.--
I wasn't sure what they were in for. Both options were horrifying. Either a dead world rising to destroy the person who had killed them all, or worse, a world filled with broken and twisted reflections of the person we wanted to save.
Seven people. Seven against a world. Hard to imagine. I really hoped it wasn't a suicide mission that they were on, but if any group could do it, this one could.
Assuming they didn't kill each other first. What was I thinking putting his children in with the heroes. Of course, they were his children, and I'd heard a story or two about them too...
Doesn't matter though, I don't know what they would run into.
As I opened the portal to let them through to that dead world I said a little prayer to anyone that would listen to keep this group safe.
They would need it.
And so would I, if I had sent them to their deaths.
