Posting my build for all to see, comment or questions are welcome.
I'm not looking at changes (save adding some pvp sets once I get
some of them)

I've changed this build many times and if you want to try something
close I might still be of help to you

I'm almost considering swapping out TK Blast for Mental Blast on my build. Shorter recharge and slightly higher PvP damage, but I'm not sure if it's worth losing a KB attack over. Here's what I'm toying with... I also was briefly debating the idea of taking Confront from Widow Training just for the -range but it seems as though the Widow version lacks -range (I bugged that, not sure if it's WAI).

WAI if I'm not mistaken. Only Tank, Brute, and Scrapper get that -range
not even the presence pool gets it if not mistaken.

Yeah it's only the tanker, brute and scrapper that get - range.

They left it that way so melee would have a better chance against ranged attackers. If ranged attackers had access to -range in a taunt it would give them an unfair advantage.

A team with a few Forts can still steamroll many hero teams if they're played well.

This I can agree with you. I've always thought SoA excels in "teams", not soloing.

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
