Alrighty I did as was told everything except my mission transfered over. I have tried this several times it shows my mission as autosave and not mission title. Search by mission title comes back empty no published arcs. Please help EX.

Thargor do you have unlockable content in your mission? If so you will have to wait until you have unlocked that content on live.

To avoid this issue you can republish without the unlockable content in your mission and it should validate.

What happens if you didn't use any Unlockable content?

My Exact error is

Field Descripition Contained improperly formated HTML

Had the same problem. What it means is that you can't have space inbetween paragraphs for descriptions. This problem was a bit more involved for me as well because it seems like the space for descriptions have also decreased, so it is quite possible you have more text than allowed.

If your test folder doesn't have a mission folder, then you have no missions to copy, as that is where they would be stored.

Do this:

SEARCH for all files with the .storyarc extension. Create "Missions" folder in your Live CHV folder. Copy all files named *.storyarc to the new Missions folder.

"City of Heroes. April 27, 2004 - August 31, 2012. Obliterated not with a weapon of mass destruction, not by an all-powerful supervillain... but by a cold-hearted and cowardly corporate suck-up."

Just another issue I'm having Ex:

The missions I've transferred from my folder are all older versions of missions from Test. Changes that I made later on Test are gone.

I did the transfer of the folders and my missions were there when I went to the live server but now it will not let me publish them. It seems to be acting like the mission is published because the publish tab is greyed out but on the "my published stories" tab nothing is there. Did something change or mess up when I moved the files on my mac? or could it be something else?

Thanks.

If the mission is greyed out on Publish and Test, but you can Edit it, then there's a validation problem. It's probably too much text in one or more of the text fields.

This is because, once published, you stop working from your local files, and instead edit the published arc directly. Since you made 'published' changes, the local files were never updated.

This is a BIG gotcha that people don't know about. If you make ANY changes to a published arc, once you've republished, you need to go back in to the Edit screen and click on the Save Locally button. This will 'copy down' the Published data to your drive, overwriting the outdated version.

Otherwise you won't have the latest and greatest as your 'local' version.

Yeah I figured it out when I took a closer look in edit mode. I forgot that I had unlockable content on this mission. So for obvious reasons it would not work if I did not have that content unlocked on the live servers.

*bangs his head* Oh darn... Wish I had known that, but thanks for the answer.

OK here is my problem. I copied my files over to Live but they don't seem to come up when I use the MA. They Show up when I open the file folders. All the arcs and baddies are there, but I get nothing when I try to use them.
WHat fundamental and probabbly obvious step did I miss here.

Enjoy your day please.

You can still recover, you know - the mission arcs are still there on the Test Server. Load up Test, copy down latest version of arc, copy that from test install to live install, republish.

Apollinaris,

When did you last play your mission on test?

The limitations for size were adjusted during beta, so you may be bumping against those parameters.

Ex

[/ QUOTE ]

Let's see, the last time I actually played the arc was on 4/1/09. However I can go ahead onto the test server right now and open up my arc and it will show me a file size of 98.13%. I assume I could launch and play the arc, put I haven't actually tried it yet.

Addendum: I went on onto test server just now (6:03 Eastern Time today), logged onto the training room server, and launched and successfully played two copies of my mission, the version Published on the test server (Arc# 12193) and played the local copy of this same arc I have on my hard drive in test most. Both arcs played without difficulty on the test server. The local file on the hard drive is the identical file that was copied over to my live CoH folder to transfer the mission to the live servers.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm having the same issue with "The Ghost in the Machine". It shows as 98.4% on Test, but when I copy the file to live, it claims the file is 100.8%. I can provide the file on request. The file as saved from the MA editor shows no differences with what I load into it, so I don't think it's the old &nbsp problem, though I suppose it could be related.

Very frustrating, and but even more disturbing, because it means there's a difference in behavior between test and live. How did that happen? I wonder if there are other problems that crept in or fixes that got reverted.

Having already gone through these shenanigans three times on Test, I'm a little too burned out to trace through it all tonight. Maybe tomorrow.

I can think of two things: one, you somehow put them in the wrong folder (do you have more than one install folder?), or two, you have search parameters enabled when you switch over to the "My Creations" tab. For example, I had been searching for items with no ratings, and when I left that enabled for "My Creations" nothing showed up... which is weird and not really desirable, but at least understandable once you know what's going on.

I'm going to have to try this once I get home tonight...

When I couldnt find the test mission folder (the critter and group ones transferred fine) I figured I'd go to test and see if my arc was still there.

Sure enough it still was, however only the published version was, I couldnt edit it, and it wasnt in "my local arcs' section anymore, just the "my publish arcs section".

Hmmm. No my ratings are all set to the normal one in game so it is not that.
I only have one install folder which does include a section for the 3 Player Made Souveneirs I have already received.
ANy other suggestions? The world really needs to see the Weird Tale of Dr Weare. Well maybe not but you never know.

EDIT : Well I figured my problem out. Somehow I created a SubFolder(if that makes sense) within the main one. I dragged each and every critter and mission up to the main one and it all worked out. I'm sure it wasn't the easiest solution but much easier then trying to recreate my Baddies.

Enjoy your day please.
