There was nothing special looking about Doctor Von Krayzee. He looked perfectly normal. An older man, balding mostly with a comb over and glasses, he dressed in a shirt, tie and slacks with nice shoes. He did wear a lab coat, everywhere he went, though, which was a bit odd. There was also the smile. He had this... smile that didn't quite look right. Other than that, though, and the lab coat, he fit right in.

Fitting in recently, however, had been hard. He found himself stumbling down an alleyway in Port Oaks, looking for refuge, but whenever he looked over his shoulder he could see the silhouette watching him from the rooftop nearby, or the darkness of the alleyway. He couldn't escape it. It was behind him... watching him.

He ducked into a nearby bar and looked around. He tried to wipe the wild expression from his face and straightened his coat and tie a bit. Then, calmly as he could muster, he walked to the U shaped bar and sat down. He looked about, smiling at anyone who was staring and pulled a pen from his pocket.

He grabbed a napkin and began to scribble on it, mumbling softly to himself as he did so. His facial expressions turned intense, as he stuck his tongue out the side of his mouth in concentration.

When he stepped through the door, he couldn’t help but wonder if everyone thought he was the one from this dimension. So many Longbow were killed, thinking he was the Toulon everyone revered as a Hero. They never bothered to broadcast that that same hero had ripped him from his own dimension and brought him here.

He, the Praetorian Toulonthalas, had the same long blond hair, elven ears, and and almond shaped blue eyes. That’s where the similarities ended. A scar covered his right eye, and he had a constant scowl. He wore blackened chainmail shirt, loose-fitting black pants, and a tattered red cloak with the hood pulled over his head. His hands crackled with red energy for a brief second as he walked down the streets of Port Oakes.

That was the other difference between himself and his heroic counterpart. Where the hero chose to learn the sword, Toulonthalas chose to take up magic. He could conceal himself from the eyes of weaker beings and strike them down before they knew what was happening.

He removed the hood of the cloak as he sat at the bar, his eyes shifting to the other patrons. Looking towards the bartender, he nodded a greeting, “Red Wine, please.”

Given Brian was busy Gorge went to the new visitors. He noted the doctor was busy writing so just put a drink menu on the bar and went to the other new visitor.

He tilted his head something about this elven fellow looked familure but where he couldn't placed. No dout some news report on the T.V.

Well he didn't ask for a brand so Gorge went and got one of the cheeper bottles of red wine and a wine glass from the rack. He poped the cork and poored the liquid then placed the glass down on a napkin with a nod.

From the gambling booth Tony anounces "The Royal rumble is over the hero has fallen and the winner still standing... thought not by much... Captain Castillo. Must been his force feild. Now switching the large screen to the inside of a Crey Lab for the battle between a team of Destined ones and Countess Crey and her guards. Once again Going odds are Countess wipes them all out 3 to 1 odds. The team winning with no KO's 10 to 1 odds. Winning with one KO 5 to 1 odds. and Winning with two KO's 3 to 1 odds. Betting ends as soon as Countess sees the team."

At that, Ildela looked a little confused. "That's it? Kill a few fish and I'm hired? Feh, too easy." With that she spun, drained her glass and walked off, leaving the empty glass. She stopped halfway across the room as Tony called out the results of the fight in Faultline. "Feh. Still ahead, even if I lose the other one too." She proceeded out of the room, fading from sight as she went.

"....that stuff BURNS!", was heard from outside a few seconds later as the taste of that drink finally caught up with her.

He placed his money on the bar, with a small tip and watched the screens of the fight. One thing he couldn’t help enjoy was watching a good battle. He took a sip of the wine, noting the quality was a little less than his pallet preferred, but figured, since he didn’t say which he wanted, it was his own fault.

He took a quick look at the rest of the establishment before watching the Countess Crey fight, “Nice place.”

The doctor noticed the drink menu moments later. "What? Where?" He looked around suspiciously until his eyes fell on Brian. "Oh, yes, a bartender. That must mean this is a bar. I'm in a bar."

A moment went by where he realized he was speaking aloud and he became very self conscious. "And I'm going to have a drink... in this bar." He said, nodding to the elven gentleman who had just strolled in. "Because that's what people do... in bars."

He cast a suspicious glance toward the door and then looked at the menu. "Barkeep, my good man, I would like a Divine Wind please." Doctor Von Krayzee was completely unaware that he was translating from Japanese. He just smiled his most convincing smile, which could be comfortably described as "a bit off".

It was then that he noticed the silhouette in the window. Sort of a sphere with leaves on the side, like he were being stalked by ball that was hiding in a bush. He gasped and looked around the bar to see if anyone else had seen. Then he looked back and it was gone. "Is it gone? Was it ever there?"

He redoubled his efforts on the napkin, referring to the drink menu as if it were some sort of chemical source material. "And a splash of vodka or maybe whiskey... no.. there's something missing."

Jameson wasn't phased by the bag of money. She looked at it with an arched brow, calculating how much money was inside. At least Spencer and his partner were competent at what they did.

"Dreams?" She said as she stared into her glass, "Don't do much dreaming anymore."

Snorting, Jameson finished her glass, "Sorry. Not quite in the spirit of things, right? You're celebrating, I'm comiserating."

She gave the duffel a light kick, "Only problem with forced withdrawls from Paragon City Banks is that the money runs out eventually and you're forced to do it again."

Waving the bartender over, Jameson ordered a glass of Jameson's, neat.

Toulonthalas laughed, "I'll drink to that. Lately they haven't been keeping them well stocked, either."

He tilted the wine glass back, drinking about half of what was left, before looking back at the fight on the TV.

Jay was slightly surprised Ildela didn't ask for the payment. Heck, the guy could be paying her a nickel an hour, she wouldn't know. Anyhow, wasn't his problem, he got his pay for the day, as long as Spencer didn't spend it all. He looked at the two newcomers to the bar, a scientist with an odd smile to say the least, and a elven-looking fellow. He nodded to both as he walked in, considering talking to one of them for idle conversation. His shoulders slumped as one of his options went out the door, mostly because he was talking to himself. He shrugged slightly and sipped his drink. "Hey," he said, motioning towards Tony "I got fifteen on the heroes winning with three KO's,"

While Jay placed a bet, Spencer also saw the two new people come in, but ignored them for the most part. "That's okay, after a couple of drinks, I'm sure you'll be celebrating too," His eyes widened slightly as she kicked the duffel bag, but he didn't do anything. He smiled, patting the bag on top with his foot "I don't worry about that much, got a couple good deals running and dang, do I love my job,"

"So," he continued after ordering another drink "What do you do for a living, then? Organized crime or soldier of fortune?"

Truth or Lie? It was always the big gamble. If the barkeep was worth his salt, he wouldn't rat her out, at least until he saw what kind of tipper she was.

Of course, then she recalled the day. Still in the middle of Lent. Crap.

Next year she was going to give up killing. Much more difficult, but she was sure it would lead to much less awkward conversations.

"Destiny killed them, it's the only logical conclusion if you assume destiny exists as an axiom to begin the investigation. Unless of course, it's just a moniker, then anything could have done them in." The doctor was still drawing on the napkin, not making eye contact and talking at a volume that didn't distinguish between joining the conversation and babbling to himself.

Tony looks at the screens "your talking about the fight on screen 4? On the big screen are three villians going after the countess crey. Oh Update Countess Crey betting is now over! The battle begins now"

"There is a group of heroes going after Dr. Vahzilok I could add the data still new I could put that bet on at 5 to 1 odds heroes win with three KOs."

Gorge looked at the Doctor scribling on the napkin as he got the man the drink... drinks he requested he looked to the window. In his scratch voice "what am I should be seeing to tell you if it's gone?"

"What? Oh that? Nothing... nothing at all. I'm fairly certain that there's no way it could exist anyway. It's just not scientifically plausible. Too many problems with the equation for it to... AHHH!" The doctor shrieked like a little girl as he saw the dark figure move past another window behind George.

"Ah, there... I was saying that... it's nothing. It just can't be real. There's no nerves. Fruit have no nerves and cybernetics require a certain amount of electricity... the transistor is a very delicate piece of machinery and requires a certain level of energy... not to mention phase and amplitude... no, there's nothing out there. There can't be. Did my drink arrive yet?"

Doctor Von Krayzee looked at the bar in front of him for his drink. He held up the napkin, "but if it does exist... this... this might be the key!"

Jay's eyebrows raised in surprise. "Is it now?" he asked, laughing a little "Then dang, get me something a little less hardcore," He sighed, finishing off the rest of his drink. He looked over at his partner, so easily fitting in with the rest of the crowd. He sighed again, leaning back in his chair and closing his eyes for a moment, ignoring the shrieks of the professor as best he could.

"Destined ones, what a load of bullcr-" Spencer started, being interrupted by the man with the lab coat, shrieking and mumbling about fruit. "Are ah, are you doing okay there?" Spencer asked timidly, leaning over to try and get a peak of whatever was on the napkin.

His formulas on the napkin were incomplete structures of molecular bonds. Chemistry at a level over the head of many actual scientists, that he was scrawling on a cocktail napkin. "OK, yeah, sure, fine. Why wouldn't I be... fine. Fine."

The disturbing smile made its appearance again. "How... how, how are you?"

George looked around and didn't spot anything and went over to Brian and nuged his boss then motions to the Doctor.

Brian looked over and nodded and walked over "Seems like your stressed sir perhaps we can help." He smiled at Spencer seeing the fellow was also worried.

Then back to the Doctor "you said something about energy and I remember Potatos could be used to generate power I cooked a hotdog with one in High school"

"Did you say... potato?" The doctor looked horrified. His face froze in that form as if he were getting some sort of direct TV signal of a slasher film beamed into his head. Then, his expression slowly melted to astonishment. "I'm going to need another napkin."

As he began scribbling furiously, he questioned Brian "how many potatoes do you have? Do you know their power rating per kilogram? Oh, alright, if you must you can give it to me in wattage to pounds." Doctor Von Krayzee looked up, "I don't suppose you have any neurosensitive titanium wiring lying around... maybe somewhere in the back?"

Operative Jameson held back on a sigh. Whoever this guy in the lab coat was, he was either a mad scientist or an escaped mental patient.

Still not nearly drunk enough to not care about her job, She took the effort to memorize his facial features. Later she could investigate him and if he was new to mad science, send a recruiter. Never hurt to pad the eval where you could.

Otherwise, she turned back to her glass and drank.

"Welp, that wasn't too hard to find", Ildela commented to herself, crouching invisible on a rooftop over the road from the warehouse she was looking for. And it hadn't been either, all she had to do was follow the overpowering smell of fish. Rolling forward off the edge, she flew in a gentle curve to land in front of the warehouse's door, which she then carefully slipped open just wide enough for her to enter without tipping off the Coralax that their death had arrived.

No, that element of surprise was only blown when the first of them looked down at the pair of swords protruding from his (Her? Ildela could never tell with Coralax.) chest before slowly toppling over as the stalker moved on to the next. "Pathetic", she muttered under her breath as she left the dead fishman behind her and vanished from sight again, intent on doing exactly the same to the next one she saw.

Ildela didn't get the opportunity to do so. The next group of Coralax she saw was being mowed down by a hailstorm of bullets. The thug enforcer from the bar earlier had beaten her here by just a few moments, but WHY was he here...?

"What're you freaks doin' here?" He grunted as he closed with the last surviving one and smashed it over the head with one of his uzi. "This joint is supposed to belong to the lost....."

"Wrong", Ildela stated flatly, that and the sword across his throat the first indication the man would have of her presence unless he had some truly exceptional senses. "This joint belongs to the guy who paid me to clear it out for him. That might include you, or might not. Depends how convincing you are."

She kept the blade across his throat just in case, close enough that if he tried something he'd be dead before he knew it, but far enough away that he was in no immediate danger unless he tried the aforementioned something.

"Sword across throat. Is Thursday. K'." The enforcer mumbled, immensely startled but too cautious to make any sudden movements.

"Wrong." The thug said smugly, his voice suddenly confident, as if he thought the situation was entirely under his control. "This joint belongs to the guy who hired you, and the FAMILY owns him and everything he owns. The Lost, who are running drugs off to the Family, have formed a mutually beneficial relationship with them. The Family looks out for its interests and is spread too thin. They ask the Lost to guard this place, see? And I'm just here cleaning up the trash."

Tony spoke up then "The fight with Countess Crey and a Group of Villians is now over and the results are. The Villian team wins with two KOs the betting odds were 5 to 1! At the moment there are no running bet fights but we are showing many events taking place about the two cities!"

Brian cursed "Lost that bet... Alright Doc I see if I can find the information about energy and Potatos it's in the back. George you got the bar!" He moved to where Opertive Jameson was sitting.

"Mind helping me in the back for a bit?" The way he said it hinted there would be more then just looking for a book.

Jameson tilted her head as Brian asked for her help. Her first thought was 'God no', but that wasn't very Christian of her now, was it?

Her Foresight wasn't giving any danger pings, but it wasn't that accurate out of three or so minutes.

"Sure." she said, her voice emoting pure neutrality. She have a half wave to Spencer as she stood up and followed after Brian.

Brian headed to the back and once out of earshot of the loony Doctor he spoke up. "I'm sorry for disterbing ya like this but I noticed that Doctor fellow was eyeing the windows alot either he sees something that's not there, expecting something to show up, or I'm not seeing what he sees."

"So first is can you Um what do the night widows do .. hide there pressance and if you can mind looking about outside you can exit by the kitchen entrance. Of course this is a simple request I understand if you don't wish to do so and return to your chat with the fellow."

He entered the kitchen and waved to the Cook who was mumbling about cooking with the damn paste. And he picked up a pottato from the bin. "Hmm now I wonder if I can remember High school science."
