Looking for costume opinions

I want to create an Illusion Controller with the super-awesomely creative name of Illusion Girl, but I'm having trouble designing with a good costume for her. I see her as having a simple sort of Legion of Superheroes-esque costume, but I'm waffling on the design and color scheme. So far the front-runners are:

Illusion Girl 1

and,

Illusion Girl 2

I'm looking for opinions, not only on which of these designs you, the discerning Screenshots and Fan Art forum readers like better, but also what you would tweek, or change out-right. Anything is fair game - color scheme, patterns, belt, boots, and especially chest emblem. There really are no chest emblems that scream "Illusion Controller" to me, but the one I chose kind of evokes the image of the hypnotists spiral in my mind.

You can even weigh in on hairstyle and color if you like, but to me those are secondary to getting the costume right.

So... opinions?

They're not bad. The colors for the belt and chest emblems don't really go with the rest of the outfit, though.

The overall look definitely fits with oldskool Legion of Super Heroes, but I think it could be improved a bit. Here's what I came up, keeping what you were going for in mind, but trying to get closer to the current Legion looks (or at least current as a few years ago when I was reading it):

Thanks, trickshooter. I like the addition of the tiara, I'll have to try that out. And yeah, I know the colors of the chest symbol and belt depart from the rest of the outfit. I wanted the chest symbol to sort of grab your attention, which is why I colored it differently, and then I just matched the belt to it.

I'll also have to try out the star symbol you used and the darker fuchsia type color to see how they look. I'm trying to stay away from things like bikini-bottoms and thigh-high or stilleto heels because I guess she's influenced as much by Mary Marvel as the Legion.

I say go with Look 2 and just change the thigh highs to something else.

well, this is an idea - sort of free-forming it. if you're looking for the hypnotists spiral, might i suggest the Optic chest symbol??

Well, I love making costumes and all, so when I remember to try some of these out, it's great fun to offer my own personal attempts to these requests!
I like what you had there originally and planned to stick with that more-so... Although everyone else's offerings look great as well.

Anyway, here's my offering:
Illusion Girl?

I liked your sleeves and the tights and skirt, and I also like that sun emblem, although I'm still not sure if I got that one right...
I just had to add in the psych pattern.
And then when I was done, the odd hair color just called to me.

I'm not sure if I veered away too far from your plan... But, regardless, I had fun doing it!

Pretty nice, Electric Knight, thanks. I still haven't settled on a costume for her, so I may incorporate some of what you've done here. I like the blend (I use that option a lot), and the tights pattern.

I think I may stay away from the headband/tiara - after trying several versions on different costumes, it just... I don't know, doesn't fit my concept.

I thought about giving her white hair, but I am mindful of making her look too much like Clea from Doctor Strange.

Again, good suggestions all, and thanks. I will certainly post a final screenshot when I have settled on a costume.

Mouse, the costume you posted are really nice.

So are Trickshooters, I love them all.

Seraf has a good one too, maybe a little less Legion of Superheroesque.
