New monitor - recording in wide screen resolution
Your first worry should be that CoH doesn't do widescreen format (at least last I checked). It will fit your screen, sure, but the image gets all stretched out. This is pretty noticeable to some, not so much to others.
As for uploading a widescreenie video someplace, I'm not entirely sure what settings are best to ensure it doesn't get squished back to squaresville.
CoX does widescreen.
I have 2 of them, plays really nice on both.
I dont record directly, i demo record then playback at fixed 4:3 (1280x960) and record in FRAPS that way so my vids are native 4:3 instead of 16:9. Just have to be carful setting up the shots so you know whats visable in the smaller resolution (I have little tape guides on the edge of my monitor to help.)

So my old square flatscreen monitor died on me, so I got a new one. A widescreen one.
Question for the gurus here: since most streaming media that I've seen uses a squareish aspect ratio and not a widescreen one (Look how fancy I am, knowning these technical terms) is there anything special I should worry about when screen capturing and/or compressing for a viewable format?
