Pulling some sound for our DJ at Hero-Con

Hey Gang,

We wanted to make sure and get our DJ some of the better dance music from in game that he can be using in his mixing for the show.

If you know of a great loop or tune post here and I'll make sure to add it to the collection.

95% of what I have is from the ftp.coh.com site, the other 5% comes from me parking myself in a zone and recording the music.

The only other thing I can share is the Samuraiko Productions remix of the Heroes1_Loop piece I did for "The Etiquette of Assassination," and you can get that here.

Edited: Samuraiko that "City of Heroes - Incarnate "video you did was very top notch. I wish the game actually had that kind of story telling "feel".

Hmmm....

The Fools Gold one on the FTP site isn't bad. Could be a tad confusing, though, because the Fool's Gold district in Steel hasn't played the music since Issue 1 or 2.

What about all the songs that play in the game itself from the boombox? They aren't on the FTP site but I think some barnyard animal has it stuffed inside it.

The Cannonade music is probably the best in the game but it's only about 35 seconds long. Oh wait, there it is again! Heroes5 Loop.

Let's see, villain side.... J35? Idunno, it's got some funky bits to it.

A song called Fort Blood once fell out of Statesman's ham sandwich, maybe you could dig that up somewhere. <ahem>

There's a lot of off-beat stuff in this game! No wonder I like listening to the game music so much. Of course, I don't try dancing to it....

Hehe, if you need people to shut up, play the sound of a Void rifle firing. I know that gets my attention instantly.

Thanks very much for the compliment - I've always felt the game had that storytelling feel to it, this was just my way of bringing it out.

Continuing my reputation as the "I can find anything" geek... if I remember right, the same music was used in the single best damn trailer that Cryptic/NCSoft ever made for this game... I don't suppose THIS is what you're looking for?
