Some of my heroes and a villain or 2
You've definitely got the pulp thing nailed. I particularly like the Red Phantom.

Thank you, Ironik! I like yours too.. Especially the Wicked Garden Gnome seeing as how I got a gnome in the living room window.
John Bull is really cool. In fact last night, I was trying to come up with a WW2 English mystery man once I saw that stylized lion. I almost gave up on it but seeing your hero has inspired me to keep thinking.
Pulp for the win. It makes me happy just seeing these characters. I love 'em! Especially dig the Phantom since I have a weakness for behatted mystery men in long coats.

I especially like The Red Phantom and The Avenging Skull. Very nicely done, and I love pulpy characters.
The best comics are still 10!

Just so you know, I've bookmarked and am planning on reading when I get some time.
Give it up for a local boy (Albany, NY that is)!
Great stuff, man. I also dig the pulp era, and I really like the feel of what you're doing.
...being an ex-NYC patriot myself, I do believe Rockabilly Samurai is my fave... I see visions of dancing, sword swinging Elvis-es now, and I'm afraid I may just have to draw one when I get home on Wednesday...
I really like the Red Phantom.
I watched those videoes, and now I also like that blind archer(name escapes me at the moment).
You mentioned something about a novel and/or a comic? Do you have any of it (preferably the comic) to see yet?
Also do you play any of these characters?

The Shadow, The Spyder, Doc Savage, ERB -- pulp adventures of fantastic mystery men and their crime fighting ways.
Pulp is a pretty wide category. A lot of folks would include the comics of the 30's and 40's, pre-Comics Code (which were very visceral and loaded with T&A, for the time.) Plus you have the "dime store novels" such as the Shadow, the Executioner series, Mack Bolan, etc etc. A lot of science fiction would fall into that category as well, yes, including Edgar Rice Borroughs.
"City of Heroes. April 27, 2004 - August 31, 2012. Obliterated not with a weapon of mass destruction, not by an all-powerful supervillain... but by a cold-hearted and cowardly corporate suck-up."
Also, they are so named because the adventures were printed on cheap pulpy paper.
You might be familiar with such neo-pulp characters as Indiana Jones, the Rocketeer, and Sky Captain.
I'd pay a lot for a City of Pulp Heroes MMO

okay here is the skinny:
For Liberty users - I'm on as the Red Phantom (one of the founders). If you want to join, look for me and I'll add you w/o any hesitation. The base is built for the founders (Phantom and Challenger Storm) so dont be surpised when you see a science/tech side and an occult side. Once we get more prestige, ill add more rooms for new members and ill grant base editing abilities
Virtue users -
Storm and Red has been created and we're forming another group but we're just at level one. we'll keep you posted!

Are they red or blue? (I ask because Red Phantom's screenies look like they're taken in Breakout.)
I have a Dark Defender pulp hero on Virtue and another on Liberty, but I really just made them as placeholders until Dark Blasters can be made, since I already have two other Dark Defenders and Dark Scrappers. (I have something of an alt problem.)

Awesome, I will keep an eye out on Virtue. I am sure I could stretch my altitis to make a new pulpy character.

I made Red first in CoV to test out everything on a friend's account before I made the game.
Arent making alts GREAT??
The Rockabilly Samurai reminded me of the Greatest Movie Ever Made.
As NYCPulpWriter has mentioned my character a few times, I thought I'd pop in and say hi.
I also have a handful of characters (Challenger Storm being one of them) with a pulp slant and will be making a post with pics soon.
Looking forward to meeting other dispensers of pulp justice (or villainy)!
