How do you get UI to show in demo?

I recorded a demo of RWZ Challenge but it doesn't show any of the UI (target, chat etc.). Is that info there and just hidden? Or do you need to specify it shows when you first record the demo?

I wanted to post it so peeps could see the RWZ Challenge.

Did a board search but didn't see the answer. THx.

Demorecords don't record the UI. To see the UI, you'd need to video cap the game (using something like fraps, say).

Chat you can still see provided it appears over characters' heads (if you're using Zloth's Demo Player, you can opt to leave that on), but if it's conversations going on over a channel that doesn't display that way, then you're out of luck, I'm afraid.

You can read chat that doesn't show by opening up the demo in Notepad then searching on Chat. Quite a pain but it works.

The UI, however, doesn't show. Ever. It simply isn't recorded. Remember, the point of this system is really so NCNC can demonstrate how the game works at shows and have an easier time making trailers for Issues. Wouldn't want a UI on those.

OK thanks. I was more interested in seeing the targets and the combat logs on the screen. And showing what powers were being clicked, when. I think I'll need a fraps-type to do that.

Yep, FRAPS or WeGame. I don't think either will show the mousepointer but viewers can see the button animations.
