From L1 - L50 in two weeks (without PLing)
I think this is actually a very good guide for those who want Khelds.
Now all we need is a guide for those who do get to 50 and are sorely disappointed by Khelds...

Strangely enough, I'm working on that. Kheldeons are actually pretty useful if you think about it. They can have the damage ability of an electric blaster (not too great) with some great debuffs that most dark defenders get and then they can tank like a scrapper (also not that great). The difference between them and the other AT classes is that they are flexible. My SG and I are working on making a few fun mixes for our Kheldions, I've got the WS with a couple of other friends and we have six people doing PBs, I guess they are more fun.
So far, we're up to L35 and are doing pretty good so far. We have our problems when we run into the Voids and Qs, but so far it's not too rough, we all just go into our Squid Forms and blow them to hell (eg).
Sure they aren't the best for doing farm missions, but very few really are. I frankly just want a L50 Kheld so I can have a little bit of bragging rights, but I'm fine with doing it for a bit of education too
Also, great idea on selling those Insp, I hadn't even thought of that. Deffinately going to have to do an edit to the guide now.

Course I'm more one of those that don't mind the PL broadcasts in PI. I know that not all have the time I've spent on my Blaster and if they want to PL its there 15$ and there inflencue/infame let them play how they want *shrugs* never understood the PL hate.

Most people don't hate PLing per se, although there are exceptions. What people don't like is the results of PLs, because it does affect them. These people also tend to feel the same way towards people who buy or "inherit" an account.
Basically, when you're on a (relatively) high level team, you expect people to know what they're doing. All well and fine a level 10 tanker doesn't realize what their shields do, but a level 40 tanker should not only know what their shields do, but which are best/necessary in certain situations, etc. Someone who gets PLd (and I'm not saying everyone is like this, but there's enough to make an issue out of it) doesn't play with their character either solo, or on teams, and comes out of their PL with a toon that has more than 25 different powers, and no idea how they work (as I said, this is a generalization; This isn't true for everyone). They then join teams, and cause either themselves, or their teammates to die, slowing down combat, asking questions that anyone should know after their first couple of missions, and generally making a nuisance of themselves.
If PLd people actually took the time to figure out how their powers worked, and ran some stuff solo, or with a friend to test out certain powers, looked up numbers in builders or on the forums, and didn't join teams until they knew what they were doing, a lot less people would have an issue with PLing. Unfortunately, usually the kind of people who'd put that kind of thought into a toon's build aren't as likely to seek out PLs, and vice-versa.
Additionally, the annoying tells, e-mails and other spams that advertise PLing services don't help.

First, you may want to specificy whether it's heroes or villains in the title.
Hm, a reasonably good job and probably helpful for players that would like to level quick, experience the game, earn badges AND have fun without PLing.
Also, and you will see this in my notes found under, sometimes you do expect more of a person than they can handle following your guide precisely.
I just had a few comments that readers of this guide may want further opinion on:

(About Manticore's TF) This isn't the easiest of Task Forces though, so be careful. Lady Grey is a very powerful person
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, Manticore is one of the most fun task forces, even with a completely random PuG, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
[ QUOTE ]
(About Numina's TF) this is possibly the hardest fight in the entire game. Instead of fighting an Arch Villain or something like that, you are going to be fighting a Giant Monster.
[/ QUOTE ]
Next to the STF this is probably the hardest fight in the game? Not even close (search up Hamidon ) and plus, as everyone should be between level 35 and 40, almost any powers you would want (save APPs), Monsters should be as much of a problem as any other AV. Next, it's not a Giant Monster (which is leveless, and will always be purple to you) it's a Monster, which has levels, but unfortunately no one in the TF will be high enough to view it as anything other than purple.'

Dr. Quarterfield's Task Force. This IS the longest task force in the game and will take all day,
[/ QUOTE ]
People have said that this takes between 10 and 13 hours, but in reality, even with a poorly assembled team (as most of the time you will not find many willing to do this), this will take no more than 7 hours (still a while ) but I have done it in less than 5 and I have had reports of it being done in about 3 and a half hours.

You are going to need a Stone Tanker, though Invulnerably or Willpower Will work, you will need a Radiation / Radiation Defender, and the more FireKin's the better, though any good Controller will work just fine. Remember, Radiation will stack up, so if you have three characters who can radiate, all the better. Other than that, you shouldn't have very much trouble. this is the most difficult badge in the game to reach, so you will probably have to do it several times before you will finally get it, but still finish the TF if you are more than 2 missions down, the IO and HO Enhancers at the end is always worth it, and you should be 49 by now too.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ah, the stereotypes in this one, be careful with the word 'need', and the whole Radiation or Kinetics thing as well... First, you really don't need a Stone Tanker, an Invulnerabillity or Willpower Tanker either, it can be any Tank, I'm sure many Fire Tanks have achieved it (of reports on Protector, the majority of victories is with a Fire Tanker, and of the 4 or 5 reported team Tanks (this is not the total of victories, just an estimation of the amount of different team Tanks that have achieved this), 2 are Fiery Tankers. Also, in my opinion (my Tanker is one of those Tankers), the absolute most useful player for this badge is an Ill/Sonic Controller, but any Ill/* Controller will be awesome, and pretty much any Archetype will do as long as there are support/debuff/damage dealing/damage mitigating toons it will be a good team, they all just have to listen really well.
I actually agree with most of what you said. I had written a bit of this from memory and forgot that Manticore's TF is actually pretty easy to beat at the end and Numina is a VERY short TF (about an hour to finish). I still haven't beat Quarterfield's TF in less than 7 hours though ;p.
As for the tanker types, that is the easiest way to get it set up. The Ill would work too I suppose, but it gets you too close to the big bad guy for my comfort... though you could just stay invisible I guess... mhh, good ideal. I will have to give that a try. I've tried this with a fire tank before though. We were deathless right until we went up against Recluse and he went down faster than... you get the idea. Most teams will work for this though, I've run it a few times with a pickup and had everyone earn the badge without any problems.

This is a 14 day guide to getting to level 50. Any player of any skill level can do this, they just have to know how to get a team together and hopefully will learn how to react with their team and how their powers work. If you have a problem with these things, it may take longer, but it only took me 14 days.
[/ QUOTE ]
It also might take longer if you don't play 16 hours a day?

That hasn't been brought up yet. Congrats on being the first.

Maybe not excactly 16 hours a day. But probably will take a while on some of the SS TFs
Heheh, yeah...I ate a heck load of inspirations during the Recluse fight with my Fiery Tanker...actually, I was falling asleep and Recluse ran right up to one of the squishies, but I managed to taunt him a second before, so he ran back.
After getting the red and yellow towers down he's really not that difficult to handle with a good team.
This is a good guide overall. However, using it requires one important skill: the ability to tell a good team from a bad team. A good team bring levelling and fun, a bad team brings frustration and debt. The most common sign of a bad team is death, and on a good team, no death. This isn't 100% tho... a good team can have a run of bad luck, and a crappy team can still survive underpowered missions. My only advice here is, go with your gut.
A few specific comments:
-Try to get the fortuneteller mission, around 12-15. Yeah, you can Ooroobooroos it later, but this saves time.
-Jurassik is hard, true, but not insanely hard. Any good 8-person team can handle it.
-Unless you're a hardcore badger (or a masochist), stay away from the Shadow Shard, especially Dr. Quaterfield. His TF makes Posi look like a picnic.
so, since I14, has you updated your tactics without using AE/MA missions?
Wow exactly one year and 42 minutes later from the last post. You are a Thread Necromancer. What unholy rite of searching hast thou performed?
I need an angry mob, some farm implements, and torches.

Interesting. I don't agree with one of the first suggestions, and that's to skip the tutorial. Get to level 2 in a reasonable amount of time, and sell those huge inspirations for big bucks to help get you started.
Just yesterday resurgences were selling for $100,000 on the villain side. Granted, you have to earn enough to put it on the market for that much, but it's obviously worth it.
