Er, how to draw chibis?
Try these: Chibi Tutes , feel free to draw me..
LJ
Thanks! I might draw you too, though it might not look all that amazing XD.. But I can try!
Ok, I drew one and scanned it.... Its ok I guess... XD
Also, I tried to put it on a DeviantArt account I just made, but I cant figure out how to use it correctly...

Lol that's hilarious, thanks for the Chibi!
Ty! I'm going to try and practice sketching more and more chibis, until I can finally get good at them.
Btw, if some people want to help me gain chibi making skills, I can draw them, though I do have a tight schedule and it might take a while.
Generally, have some practice on non-chibified or caricature work beforehand. Reason I say this is that to really know what goes into a "distorted" version, you'd want a reasonable grasp (even in theory) on what goes into a fully fledged figure.
Myself, I have difficulty with chibiforms, because I really don't like drawing out of proportion. Even when I make creatures which have extra limbs or longer bodies, they're still 'realistic' and not 'cartooned' in feel, but that's just me.
But all that aside, the one you've posted is cute
Buy some unlined paper, a ream of copy or printer paper will do. It's much easier to work on than lined paper
Also, with unlined paper - you can put it over your original work and ink or clean it up by simply tracing over it. All artists need a good light table or something similar, but you can do the same with just reasoably good lighting and a hard, light-colored surface below your work.
And - with Deviantart, watch what format you put your things in. You've sent a png up, and probably what happened was it got placed in the "preview" or thumbnail area, because on DA, ONLY .jpg format can go out without a preview.
Take your image and if you can, "save as" a jpg. You don't need a png for something fairly small - png is really good for 'full color transparencies' (like .gif images are good for 256 colors with a transparent edge, particularly used on websites; png format is full millions of colors, with a transparency layer - that's more info than your picture needs right now.) So if you save as a jpg you can re-upload it. Make sure what size your picture is, too, in pixel/pixel - when you load to DA, it will ask you what size you want the "full view" to show, be sure to say "original size".
They've added so much crap to that site, making it so very hard to post things easily Meh. But, still - keep drawing!!

Thanks for all your Help!
I'd say you have a pretty good grasp of chibi-fying things! big head, smaller body, big eyes. Everyone does a different kind of chibi. I do a more powerpuff style. Crimson Jimson does a slightly more "realistic" style. LJ does a Peanuts thing....jeez there are a lot of ways to do something that seems so simple when you start out to do it :P
Keep plugging away at it! And I second the unlined paper suggestion.
Thanks! I like your LJ one!
nobody can just tell you how to draw you cant just read a paper and poof know how to draw it takes alot of practice. and is a real pain in the @$$
That is a great first effort .
Those guides look genuinely useful, but practice is (always) the biggest part. But if you catch the bug, you'll need to create, not just want to.
Ok thanks you guys. Im definetly going to keep practicing. Next I guess I will try to do a full scale character of my toon The Rose Bandit.
I'm not very good at drawing at all, and I really want to be at least passable XD. I really like chibis, and have heard that they can sometimes be easier than full body characters. Could someone give me some tips please?
