ok my question is could this be all because Cryptic is working on the new marvel MMO and it created a conflict in titles or copyright? need to forgive the blondeness.

If you believe the news about Marvel UO, (whatever little there is of it), copyright issues are not really a problem at all. The Marvel game is supposedly going to be much different than Co*, in style and gameplay mechanics.
One of the interviews instead pointed to the division of resources as the biggest factor for making the move. Both NCSoft and Cryptic wanted Co* to have all the attention and resources that it deserves, and for Cryptic to continue to operate the way they were, with two smaller-than-necessary teams and management that was torn between making games and running a company, the sale was the only way to make sure the game survives and flourishes like we all want it to.
Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

These patches are not about big, fancy new features, but things that fans want to make their livers in the game better.

Ok now I'm starting to understand a little. Now my only question is could we start seeing more Advertising of CoX like WoW does? That's were they seem to be killing us at.
I just hope that CoX will always be around. I put too much time and effort into this game just to lose it all in these past 3 years.
I'm still hoping for free expansions, more power sets, new zones, new Archtypes, and level +50 content.
My heart and interest will always be with CoX and Guild Wars.

Sheesh, I ignore Co* for a week and look what happens!
All in all, I think this a good move. Cryptic's deal with Marvel would have left Co* in an awkward position eventually. This gives our game the best chance to grow and continue. Here's hoping they make the most of the opportunity!

#161865 - Aeon's Nemesis
Sounds cool, all the way around. Still vague on the details there, though I suspect that's partly because things aren't fully known/fully planned out anyway. I do find the idea of new expansions (City of Vigilantes or whatever) is exciting...though I confess I hope the expansion(s) won't be 'expans-alone' as somebody coined. I'd much rather it or they be integrated fully with CoH and CoV. Let heroes and villains go to whatever new area! Fight alongside the denizens and each other! Get NEW CONTENT that existing heroes and villains can enjoy
