Bay Area Meet The Devs Event!
An early Friday evening in San Jose during the holiday season pretty much guarantees I cant attend, like Bureaucrat. Ive already had to fight to get time off of work to see my family for Thanksgiving and around Christmas, and I cant afford to ask for it to attend a video game meet an greet, no matter how cool it may be. Saturdays and even Sunday afternoons are better for me. Late night Fridays are at least do-able, if not ideal. I realize not everyone is going to be able to attend, regardless of scheduling. But to have it starting at 6, or even 7, given the harsh realities of area traffic, seems particularly ill-thought out. Working a full days shift at that time of year is not optional for me. I advocate for a weekend day, or at least a later start time.
*explodes*
It doesn't sound like they'll be turning anyone away if some are unable to make the 6-7pm start time but can show up a little later so you can experience some of the fun.
And an idea for those who know that they are latecomers and think they may be missing out on a good chunk of the fun...in Austin, some of the best fun was after the meet 'n greet at an unofficial get-together that was planned by the players (I think a group of us stayed out 'till at least 2am). Just because the official meet 'n greet ends at 11pm doesn't mean we can't keep the party going in the general area D&B or at another bar and/or restaurant.
Did we get the green light yet?
we are so close i can feel it...
Well, in that case, if we all go together I volunteer to be the designated driver. I can drive almost anything well.
Perhaps one that is in the middle of the country so that no one has to go all the way East, all the way West, All the way South or all the way North.... Say Des Moines, IA....

West Coast? What is this western favoratism. Perhaps you can have a an East coast meet and greet, like when the devs are attending 1 of the many East coast Comi-cons.

Um, I think it was the Texans who were always getting the all love...they've had a couple NCSoft meet 'n greets over the past couple years in Austin. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the first official meet 'n greet that's happened on the west coast (well, not including release parties and the like).
This particular meet 'n greet in the SF Bay area is a result of the feedback that Ex Libris received at the Austin and GenCon meet 'n greets from COH/V where players expressed that they wished the devs could have been in attendance. Since it'd be pretty difficult for the devs to travel to these types of events, they've set one up that's in the devs' backyard where they can attend.
Ah crimminy, I live in the Bay Area but would find it difficult to get there, to busy with RL .
its not that long of a swim
