Hey all, I just finished the inks for a piece that was commissioned by War-Patriot. I thought you might be interested to see it before I move on to the colors.

Critiques appreciated!

Looks great, if it's not too late to change the ink stage... I would darken the hair shape around the bent hand, and smooth the thigh of the longer extended leg... Great inks btw!

Looks great!

Looks great, though I'd agree with LJ and say smooth out that hip. I really like it

Thanks guys, I appreciate it! LJ, I'm not sure I understand what you mean about the darkness of the hair. It looks black to me. (older monitor, possibly not rendering properly)

*Edited for grammar.

I think he means you can't tell what the hand is there. Where the hand ends, the hair begins, what the hand is doing, etc. I could be wrong...

Nice! Lovin the inks.

Man, them oversized clocks sure do take a beating from the ladies.

*cough!*

Looks Great Dandy, hate to think what happens if there is a way to improve it wow! Only took me 5 minutes to set my jaw back to it's normal position. Can't wait to see it in color.

Actually leave it if color will distinguish it better, but as a black and white piece alone, the hand tends to blend into the hair. And yes, I meant what Gaderath said...

Ah, thanks for the clarification, guys. I thought you meant the richness of the color, versus it's shape. Generally, when I ink a picture, I do it with the thought that it's going to be colored at some point.

Heh. Well, they say there's nothing new under the sun. I guess that holds true for lounging super-heroines as well.

Here's the final version of Patriette, all done up in color. Note that I smoothed out the right thigh, and I do think it looks better. As always, critiques appreciated.

Patriette in Color!

Oh yeah, and this makes 100 posts for me. Hooray!

Very cool! And thanks for the color shot; some of us have trouble seeing in black and white!

I was drawn to the thread because I had a character of the same name in Common Grounds. Great minds, etc.!

Troy, we demand that Patriette be retconned to this character in the Common Grounds reprints!! :P

I'm kidding. I think. No, wait... I'm semi-sorta-kinda-serious. A little. OK, a smidge. Uhmmm...

It's ok by me, as long as this Patriette was around in WWII, as the scene in CG is a flashback.

God, I love continuity...

Nice pose, and the color really clarified the object she was sitting on...with the inks I thought it was just the piece of architecture.

Nice one.
