So far as Chiz is concerned, I'm sure he'll enjoy himself in Renegades. However, after we IO'd his toons on test, went over basic strategy, and got him on his feet in the villain ladder, he ditched us for a "better" group. Frankly, it was wrong of him to abuse our help and trust. What can be said about this type of mentality and action except that it subverts the community as a whole?

Truth

I dunno Prodigy left the Renegades with all of our Strats to form a new group. We were sad to see him go but glad to see him form a new group. He had our IO's but we had no hard feelings. Same with Sinister...we worked on his arena skills and Stalker strats and he ended up in UJL. I can understand how your hurt but this is a league. If a player wants to go elsewear they do that quite often. It has happened many times on the hero ladder. For example look I cant recall who but someone jumped from Jal to Vel to Jal and back to Vel. IMO its nothing that hasn't happened b4.

im going with "not giving my builds to anyone who hasn't been in ujl for 3+ months now" kthnx.

also going with "use your money and dont waste my time if you haven't been around for 3+ months" kk.

except that im exaggerating, but the weariness will persist.

overall.. the fact is, acts like this promote a selfish culture.
regardless of however you want to rationalize it and justify it, it just does.

let me know how much you feel you should be compensated and i will be happy to start working on it. I can copy over whatever IO's have been taken or we will have him strip his toon and give you everything back.

While I don't agree with the manner in which barrier responded, the situation with Prodigy that you cited was a bit different. He was with you for awhile, and likely approached you with the notion of mobilizing his group on live (which is admirable).

It has nothing to do with material compensation, but the time and effort. He was very nice about the whole thing, while taking advantage of us for a few weeks and then trading up. I know it's a league and that people can go wherever they want. I wouldn't want to keep someone if they weren't happy. But the manner in which it happened, and the effort that went into trying to help him are things that you don't fully know about.

I play this game because of the friends I've made. I play for the people and the experience and the fun that I have PvPing. I play for practices more than officials and I don't care about rankings.

I don't think it was ever his intention to use you to get himself started, The Renegades would have given him all the IOs and strat etc. he needed to get started anyways. Its too bad it worked out this way though

Then why post something like you did on the forums for everyone to see and possibly misinterpret? It could have been easier and pose less of a threat for drama had you just said something to the effect that he left for personal reasons or just not said anything at all.
