When you're not an artist...
Sorry, bad link. Need an account there. Use www.photobucket.com
yeah, see if you cant get it on photobucket or imageshack. I wanna see it, but I dont want to sign up at a site to do so.
Sorry about that, guys. That was the gallery at our SG site, and I didn't realize I had it set to need an account to access the pages in it. I've fixed the link so that it goes directly to the image. Lemme know if that works for you.
Better. Looks pretty neat.
That looks cool.
(Hi guys.)

Ahh, okay there it is. One thing I would say in addition to it being a good job and all... that I would be careful in these 'forced angle/perspective' drawings and sketches... to visually define a source of power (or show the effect OF a power) denoting that this is a 'normal-sized' hero hovering or flying in mid-air. To those who play this game each day, we recognize the pose and in-air stance. To those seeing this for the first time and not knowing the Co* Power and Lore... it might... might appear to be some 100-Foot tall *Gargantu-Man* or whatever... standing upon the building rooftops.
That's a good point, Shego. In the context of a comic, it would be clear that it isn't a giant, but as a lone image it can certainly give that impression.
Back in beta, we used to try and make it look like our toons were titans towering over the city, using the stand pose that would happen when there was a mapserver disconnect while flying.

OOo that looks neatariffic Mr. P!!! It's soooo cool that this area can give people the push to explore some latent talent
I'm looking at the piece and I'm feeling like this could be viewed as a original piece instead of a screenie. I like the sketchy effect. the only thing different I'd like to see is the whole character be less sketchy. The closest hand and foot got caught in the sketchy effect and they got washed out. If the character was more complete, then I think this piece would POP! Maybe seperate the hero from the background, wash them both seperately and at different levels, and then layer them back into place. That might work. but that's only a suggestion.
Wow I like that...
And the plug-in is 8 Pounds, which is, what? 15 bucks American?

$15.73.
I didn't think that was so bad.
Look how close I was!

... but you come here and see all the art other people are having done, wish you could do something of similar quality, but know that you simply lack the talent (whether natural or trained), it's nice to happen upon little things that help you make nifty little art-like images out of your screenshots.
I grabbed The Digital Art Shop's "Sketcher" plugin for Photoshop, and found it to be a fun little toy. While it isn't perfect for screenshots - it accentuates jaggies if you don't have FSAA turned up - it makes for a fun way to design sketches of your characters.
Here's one I did this morning of my character, Mr. Protagonist. Sure, it's obvious it was a screenie, but I'm happy with how it turned out, all in all.
