Actually, that's what it looks like for Tankers and Scrappers. Brute Invulnerability is different than what is available hero side. Basically, instead of being glowy/shiney, it's a dark black aura. You could always make a character and get to level 2 quick to unlock Temp Invuln. The rest of the powers have the same basic look.
[edit: If you make a character just to see what the aura looks like, skip the tutorial. I think it takes 10 kills to go from 1 to 2. Shouldn't take anytime.]

Unyielding is also black and Invincibility is still purple.
For brutes it's a dark shadowy kind of aura, but it's not very intense like dark armor or the hero side invul.
When I go home I will post some piccies of it on a Brute.
I think it looks wicked cool... but I don't have Invincibility yet...

I actually preferred it when Brutes had the same look as Tankers. The black... doesn't do it for me.
But, one of my friends characters "Mistress Kali" went with a totally black skintone (like Sunspot) and an orange flame aura, and it fit in REALLY well with the Invuln shields and the Fire Melee attacks.
