Stained Glass Art: Nevaeh
Cool! You need to make a whole church window out of it.
I am considering taking commissions. I can do rectangular panels, 3D objects, and suncatchers like this one. Pricing, although I haven't really thought about it, will have to vary by the complexity of project. This one had 107 pieces, a lot of which were very small, took me 39 hours to complete after I came up with the pattern. This was only my third stained glass piece, so I expect to improve time-efficiency with each new project.
My first two projects had nothing to do with CoH, but here they are:
Snowboarding
Candleholder
Because it is very time-consuming and I need to enjoy the process, I will have to keep my queue list very short and only accept characters for which I can come up with an interesting concept. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to post here or PM me.

very nice
Wow those all turned out really good! Stained glass is difficult, you're doing really well especially if those are only your first pieces.

cool, you do not see this type of art everyday. Within this setting it is an extreme a rarity; that makes it special. Keep up the work!
I like the icey look to the first piece. The dimensions are very good. I like that you used Copperfoil and not H Caming. With a VERY steady hand, H Caming can look good in somethings, but I think Copperfoil is better and more artistic.
I found for pricing, it's best to go with the panes you used to create the piece and size. got to glass galleries and look what they charge. Never under-estimate yourself. It takes talent to take colored glass and make something out of it. If your interested, I can show you some of my family's works and give you an idea on pricing.
Dursagon, I would absolutely love to see your family's works and get a clue on how the pricing works.
The snowboarding piece was done with lead H came, but I too prefer copper foil. I just wish I didn't have to sit and foil for hours.

I actually know what you are talking about. My mom did stained glass as a hobby. Your work is very talented and your style is very modern and unique. You should definitely do it professionally.
By the way, I like the candle holder because it looks cool and the bottom opens up. I hate reaching down into candle holders to light them. Especially when all I have is matches.

I know what you mean, but we use the tape copperfoil and dispenser which we find very helpful. I posted our glasswork on my DA site here. These were the only pic I could find tonight. I can snap more of the other stuff we have.
Dursagon, thanks for sharing those pictures, and thanks to everyone for the compliments. It is always nice to study and learn from what other people have done. I love the tail on the peacock. Does your family have a special cutting tool? On the hummingbird one I see a couple of pieces that would be impossible to cut out with my glass cutter. Is it hard to do bevels? I think they can be great for adding three dimensionality, but just never understood how they were done. They had a little boxy thing with wheels sticking out that was supposed to help with foiling at the store, but I just didn't think it was worth $85.

Its immensly cool.
And a very interesting way to see CoH charachters made.
Only problem is that now I cant wait to see the next one you are doing.
Very cool. My grandfather did stained glass as a hobby, so I can certainly appreciate the amount of time and effort that goes into making one of these.
Okay, now we're going to need to see a TA in stained glass.
"If I fail, they write me off as another statistic. If I succeed, they pay me a million bucks to fly out to Hollywood and fart." --- George A. Romero
"If I had any dignity, that would have been humiliating" --- Adam Savage
Virtue Server: Kheprera, Malefic Elf, Lady Omen, Night Rune, La Muerte Roja, Scarab Lafayette, Serena Ravensong, Kyrse, and Arachnavoodoo among others.
Well, since Kheprera brought it up, I took the liberty of coming up with a rough pattern for TA. It is missing his shoulder and the side of his body, but I will leave it where it is at for now because I was having trouble making the spiked shoulder look right. If I were to actually do this piece, the background probably would not be red, I was simply playing around with different colors to see how they go along with my other colors. It would either be totally opaque to bring out the figure and lightning when the sun hits it, or clear glass with a slight tint and little texture to make it seem as if the view outside is a part of the piece. I would be so excited if I get to make this one, but if not, coming up with the pattern was fun in itself.

Hi everyone,
Here are a couple of pictures of a stained glass project I did for Nevaeh, an ice/ice blaster:
Picture 1
Picture 2
I applied the same principles I learned from studying value in drawing, and I am very pleased with how it turned out. The guy at the stained glass store said he has never seen anything like it, and they have some amazing pieces. Enjoy!
