Walking for character players

Everytime I see NPC's walking around it rips me. When is walking going to be available for Player Characters!? Do they realize how much this could help the roleplaying community?

I need a Yes or No answer! Will walking be available to Player Characters within the next 3 months? (oh yeah a CM answering this message would be for the best)

Erm...

Why are you posting this is the RP forum?

I mean, no offense, but this would be better off in the suggestions or general forums...Not here...

Now, to answer your question, I haver actually asked the Infinity Server Ghost Widow in Pocket D about it. She says it will be available in the future, but not in 19, and most likely not in I10 either.

Well I did think about the forum I should post it in. I had concluded that the rp community would benefit from it the most, since well, they use emotes about 100% of the time more than the none roleplaying community. Thats all.

Someone actually wants to move slower?

Only for dramatic effect, Laz! I mean, come on, what evil, dark, mastermind of evil darkyness, while his minions surround an annoying insect hero, would not walk slowly forward, his black cloak flapping behind him in the non-existant wind of his technologically advanced base, chuckling darkly as he mutters, "Well well WELL, [Insert hero name here], it seems I have finally caught you, once an for all!"

Then, of course, while he is gloating, the hero fires a beam of energy or something, knocking the villain from the platform. The minions attack, only to be swept away, and the villain is quickly put in the Ziggursky Prison of Brickstown, Paragon City, Rhode Island.

...What? Too specific?

Posted

Not specific enough! The generic reinforcements come while the base is collapsing due to the mandatory pushing of the mandatory self-destruct button with the mandatory countdown. The hero escapes without a scratch (or maybe one on the face to make him look more rugged) at the last possible second.

It would be better if the Villain either fell into an abyss screaming, "Noooooo!" or rocketed off in his escape pod.

Posted

Yeah, but if he did fall into the abyss, it would turn out that was only a clone, and the real villain would come back, with some sorta doomsday weapon that could... I don't know... turn babies into solid gold?

I have to say I would LOVE a walking speed. Have you ever seen how good it looks in Lineage 2 when the races walk. It does add a lot to the RP community.

But I also feel this should be posted in the suggestion area with a link placed here. ... somthing like that, I hope you get what I am saying.

Total RP all the time, win or lose!

Ms Victory, level 24 Heroine Scrapper
Arctic Dance, Level 15 Heroine Scrapper
Bloody Necro, Level 9 Villaines Stalker
Russian Storm, Level 9 Villaines Controler
Devil Gamer, level 6 Villain Brute
and more ....

The doomsday device is of course an ancient relic called Midas's Hand and totally turns all the baby's to gold! Thus, ending civilization as we know it if the heroes don't mobilize a crackerjack Task Force in time to stop it!

The crackerjack team is of course made up by the world's finest and yet, untested heroes. Heroes who have yet to enter the spotlight. Clearly, once thought to be only known as the underdog, but now that Pandora's Box has been opened, they are the world's last hope.

Ah yes, the team must consist of stereotypes of the highest caliber!

The destined Leader
The quick tempered hot head
The calm really strong giant

... Who else?

What was this thread about? Yes for walking!

Posted

The sexy tomboy who, although she will not admit it until the end, and with little hints along the way, is madly in love with the leader.

...What? I play a lot of RPGs, that's all.

Posted

And then, there's the traitorous side-switcher; the one who keeps switching sides until you stop getting surprised at it.

Posted

Let's not forget the annoying know-it-all, the one with the quick wit but not the social interaction skills.

Ashes to ashes,

a City of Heroes movie on the way?

Posted

Oh and the second in charge of the leader, who is obviously more capable and more experienced but for some reason isn't in charge.

There is one of those on the villain's team too.

Posted

And then we also need the guy who joins mid-story for no apparent reason, turns out to be a distant relative of the leader guy, they betrays them, and they try to save him and he rejoins them at the last second.

Posted

Also note, the tough, battle-hardened guy who has a VERY big grudge against the villain, and, in the middle of the story, while a trap is set, and it would succeed, allowing the world to be saved right then, he attacks, ruining the plan, and getting killed. Then, of course, the dramatic last moments of the guy ensue, always ending in either '...Avenge [me, family, or other reason for grudge].' or '...*Cough*.... Remember me... *Hurk.*'

Posted

And we need the dear mentor who taught the leader everything he knows, has an over-dramatized early death, and an over-empathetic funeral service.

Posted

...And then turns out to be the final boss, the orchestrator of the whole thing, and, although having apparently taught the leader, he has a totally different style of fighting for some reason.

Posted

Oh, and the main leader guy also needs light magic at the begining, at the very end, the love of the previously mentioned tom-boy girl awakens the mystic power within him and he uses overkill dark magics to beat the brutal crap out of the said evil mentor.

Posted

And, of course, said evil mentor must A. Monologue and B. Go through thirty-freaking-thousand different incarnations, ranging from 'him' to 'giant demon type object'

Posted

Also! At the end of the battle, the mentor must return to his first state, gasping in his breath. The hero must slowly walk toward him, and look down on his damaged body. The mentor must then beg for forgiveness, and the hero looks away, seemingly thinking about it.

If the hero is all good, he will shake his head, and walk away from the man, either to let him face his death due to a creature he had released earlier, or from blood loss.

If the hero has a bad side, he will close his eyes as he looks away, before grinning evily, and firing a shot/stabbing the mentor.

Posted

Oh, and there needs to be an ancient relic that drops upon the mentor's defeat that auto-matically grants the wielder kindship of the conveniently enough, largest and most powerful nation in existance. Naturally enough, the leader guy picks it up.

Posted

Though, then the two sides of leader come into play again.

If the leader is all good, he will give said relic to a previously minor character, most usually some young, handsome man, who is trustworthy, and intelligent.

If the leader is kinda bad, he will keep the relic, but will lead the country/nation in a GOOD way.

Unless you're playing, like Fable or something. Then everything goes to hell when you're evil.
