Scraping off the rust - a few sketchs
Curse yer fancy poses and stuff!
Great work.
Very nice! I love the style!
Thanks for the compliments guys. Glad I didn't wait to start sketching until I was corroded.
Fancy poses? I thought they were kinda bland myself. I've kinda lost what little knack I had with foreshadowing. Heheh.
Nicely done. I really like the one of Alka Reverb.
Nice! Cool style!
It's amazing what you can do once the distractions of easy entertainment are removed
Nice work here... you have a intriguing style that, with a bit more development, will let you turn out some amazing work, just keep at it, man!
I love the look on Atalita's face in the group shot... you got a great look with just a few lines and seeing an eye on her sword fills my heart with all forms of warm fuzzies!
I would have to say that the weakest character in the shot would be girl to the far right. Given her pose, it seems like she should be moving, but the fact that her spine is stiff and vertical destroys any real sense of movement from the figure.
A good strait spine is good for showing a sturdy unmovable pose (like the central strong figure) but if someone is moving, bending the spine and showing the figure to be "off balance" (making sure the shoulders, hip, feet don't line up in a nice vertical line) will help to add a sense of dynamic movement to the work.
Still, nice work and don't let your self get rusty!
looks good
Wow, thanks again for the compliments everyone! I've been on "the other end" of the forum for so long, I almost forgot how positive/motivating the recieving end is. Thank you all!
I have so much to learn about anatomy, and here Graver is throwing composition into the mix. I didn't even think about the implications of the pose (straight spine, etc), it never even dawned on me. One more thing I'll have to keep in mind for next time. As for the eyeball on the sword... that's pretty much been ingraved in my head as a "must have" on it's design now.
I'm happy I stopped at rusty instead of proceeding to corroded.
So I haven't drawn anything in a while... like 6+ months. So, over the holidays I was away from my computer for a while. This added up to me having a lot more free time than I usually do. So, I started doing some sketching. For being a good half a year out of practice, I don't think that they turned out too bad.
I just figured I'd share them to see what ya think:
Quantum Enigma (DM/Inv scrapper)
Alka Reverb (Sonic/Elec Defender)
Elder Knights
This one I spent the most time on. It's a picture of my main a few of my friends. I wanted to try to and do as good of a job as I could on them. I know I hosed up a few things pretty good, but I'm quite happy with it overall.
Rusty, rusty, rusty!
