It's actually very easy, because you have two things going for you already:
Soul is in early 40's (so soloing is long and hard and thankless) and is a Kin/Energy Defender (we likeses the big teamses, yes we doessss....)
Just... don't ask if "RU HLRZ KTHXBYE!!1" and you'll probably get a positive response. 
And yes, Ankh was great! The team went through a few iterations (like, say, the band lineup of Steely Dan over the first five albums) but we had a stable core that worked really well.
