control? hmmm...prefer the yin/yang. the opposite of WP or at least the the extremes. although interesting idea and one I may use at a later date.

in regards to crow? been running around as a rad/rad fender...not sure its what I want though. may experiment with a dark/reg scrapper. seems she would be more "hands" on given her more violent nature. also...given the way dark works it has a nice micro range that could be taken for being a bit bloodthirsty...

I do like the look though...namewise..still a working name and continuing to poke around for other ideas~

I thought I posted in this thread....*sigh*

I said I would think that WP nemesis would be a Grav/Storm. And that possible they would be a woman. What better way to clip wings than force them to the ground in a storm. Also I would possible make the character wheelchair bound, as WP can fly and the nemesis cannot.

As for the yin yang then it would be the darker more violent half to WP. How would he be with his wings clipped, unable to fly? Not sure of WP background just going on the visual.

Geez wonder where my post went...anyway that was the meat of it. I wrote out this long thing...coulda sworn I posted it.

red dove, a lil to peaceful for what I am looking for. while the name is good for the nice lil play given the intended violent nature it doesnt 'oppose' whiteperegrine to my liking.
...that said I do appreciate the thought you put into it though...very much indeed Derek. thanx

the current in game 'working' model of WP's archnemesis, I give thee the stygian crow.
...the in game working model is different that the conceptual look I am going for and I suspect I should have something sketched out tomorrow for her. also...may change, may not...just getting a feel for her at the moment...which I will say I like thus far...but things could change after I play 'er a bit and sleep on it.~

Nicely done WP. Stygian Crow is a really nice name. Here's hoping you get your Archnemesis ready to pin WP's wings to the wall!

...started working on some prelim art for SC...suspect I should put something up in the week. the down side being no scanner so a crappy webcam pic will have ta do.

still undecided on how I want to take her though. really wish we could change the colors on the effects of the various powers. I like having a "matching" costume and power sfx...as is looking at a 'jarring' conflict when powers are activated. :/ ~

...ok finished the in game costume and kinda groovin on it. art wise still hammerin out a couple details...but still expecting to have something up by friday night...perhaps even a colorized version...or at least a working version.

the final in game look and new workin name: nitecrow
powers you ask...ma/dark/fly(eventually). given her wings radiate from the arms (ala Falcon) the dark aspect works nicely. also...powerwise I like some of the looks that dark provides and fits in well for a "dark avenger" type of hero.

....as if anyone cares but me...lol...none the less here we are ~

Lookin' good, WP. I like it a lot. You'll have to start gettin' some vs. artwork done, aerial battles are cool.

And I was hoping your nemesis won't be the exact opposite of whiteperegrine......but I've not read her bios, so she might be interesting.

Serengeti
that the plan eventually...and the occasional team up too.

NPG
direct opposite? not really...she's more like WP takin to the extreme. she's a hero...although vigilante would be closer the mark. while there are aspects that are in opposition to WP for the actual "drive" of the character we find she and WP have very similar goals being "heroes....the seperation comes in the measure of force and methods used, basic ideology in regards to "what a hero is".

Ironik
...true...not many heroes out there using this hairstyle. not sure why but works for nitecrow, imo. also...costume wise have to work with what I have...I cant do what I want with the tops so I have to combine what I can for the look I am after (well...as much as I can and still have it look decent).~

Reading about peregrine falcons, apparently their only real predator (besides man) is the great horned owl. Back to the search!

Sounds like this is coming right along. Beats the heck out of my idea of a archnemesis...sheesh, the more I read the more I like. And here I thought you were looking for me to be your arch. *sigh*

Hrmm... there is one thing I must ask.

Why would WP/NC care about one another enough to make them "Arch" eachother?

I mean they are living in a "CITY of Heroes" what would prompt them to seek eachother out like that?

You may need to flesh out more characters that would draw these 2 together, both in terms of "Friendly" competition and a common Defense. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" type thing.

My CJ story(In my BRAINS!!!) has at least 3 supporting characters, and for the most part I'm leaning toward just telling CJ's story not even from his POV, but all from an interested 3rd party. Kinda like Marvels where the whole pantheon and great events of the Marvel U are seen/told not by a "Super" but a normal Man trying to live within it's confines.

Me 2 bits,
-CJ

Since they're both heroes, a story about them working together, perhaps flirting (or even falling in love) and then having a falling-out because their attitudes and styles are too different would work.

White Peregrine is appalled by Nitecrow's extremism, while she sees him as soft. However, they're both on the same side and at the end of the day their goals are the same. Any story would have to show that WP has a backbone of steel, he just refuses to cross the line of killing, while NC's motivations and backstory have led her to brutally dispensing justice.

That way you don't have the problem of WP being too goody-goody or NC being too dark. She's a hero, after all, and he needs to be tough when it's called for. The motivations of each have to be understandable while their conflict has to be reasonable. Few things can do that as well as a relationship gone bad.

White Peregrine: "Nitecrow is here. These thugs have no idea the danger they're in, now. She's a heroine, but she walks a razor's edge, and I don't trust her judgement. For her, violence is the first, best option. Considering how she grew up -- and what happened to her family -- it's understandable. But not excusable.

"She is the yin to my yang, the moon to my sun. She is the night to my day.... Poetic musings aside, she's the love of my life, my ex-wife. This will be messy."

ironik is just about "spot on" for the approach I am going for between the two.

I like the idea of them having a similar goal but it is the method in which to reach that goal that the difference lies. this in turn is the greatest adversary any character could have. one where the ultimate goal is the same but the methods involved break moral/ethical constraints. shades of grey are more compelling versus black vs white as we in the real world can sympathize with such stories better as they are...well...more "real".

Crimson....along with Ironik's posts...that help clear up the concept for ya? if more is needed I can babbly for hours on the subject but thought I would stay brief as possible here...heh~

...lol...I would call her that too...but given it was taken and I loath using other characters to make a name...like Carri0n Cr0w...and a couple others. as such, pretty happy with Nitecrow and thinkin its gonna stick with me...

...and you'll have to share your lil story sometime that ya come up with. ~

Forgive me if I am wrong, but shouldn't your archnemesis want to tear your throat out? It doesn't make sense to me if NC is a hero.

why limit your greatest adversary to being a badguy? indeed...the worst adversary one could have (imo) would be one with ultimately the same goal but a radically differing method in which to get there.

...do these two get along? nope...but they used to...and that in turn also drives that wedge between them. the understanding of one anothers ideas with the hope that they can in turn show each other "the light".~
