Am I done? (Art in need of help!)
hrmm a white border would look good, have you tried to color it using photoshop or a similar program? it would turn out cleaner and make the art realy jump out at ya
But all in all it's a good image, definatly go for the lighter background.
Sadly, I have no photoshop or tablet or anything along those lines, so coloring the actual figure digitally is a no-go for me.
(Prismacolors for the win...and the actual piece is smoother than the scan - for some reason my scan picked up some weird texturing on the body that isn't evident on the actual piece.)
The filled-in background is an annoying pixel-by-pixel Paint fill.
hrmm... So I guess it's safe to assume you no longer have the plain pencils anymore correct?
Cause if ya did I may be able to help ya out with the inking ancd coloring part
Plain pencils, no. Ink only, yes.

(Edit: Actually...let me scour the hard drive. There -should- be an original scan of the pencils here somewhere now that I think of it...)
(Edit 2: Strike that. In true Murphy's Law fashion, the only prelim pencil that I saved was an incomplete one without facial features or hair.)
that's ok I'll digitally ink it and color it for ya using your orignal colors. It'll take me a day or two , sooner if I can finish up a few of my other projects.
Sweet! I look forward to seeing it.
It's lovely.
There are some free Digital imaging packages you can try like GIMP or MSPAINT.Net. Google will be able to help you with those. Good luck!
You have some great art, especially in the level of detail and color that you have done. I know many people feel Photoshop and computer media is the way to go, but your pencil and Primsacolor work stands out just as well.
I don't know if you've heard of her, but your stuff also reminds of some Ne'Ne' Thomas' early works.
I don't know that I can add anything - the black background provides a nice contrast to a mainly light image - but I can see where you might lose some of the small "radiation" lines from her hands, in terms of details. My suggestions might be a lighter fill color - something in the blues or greys to contrast the image while allowing little things to maybe be visible.
Anyhow, that's all I got.

Wow. I just looked up Nene Thomas.
Thanks for the massive compliment! Her stuff is gorgeous.
I was gonna say, don't use black. Go with a complimentary color. Yeah her body is white so go with compliment of the hair, for instance, or the boot. Since those are major eye-drawing points. Maybe a purpley or a greenish background perhaps?
Okay, so I finally got the color laid in on the piece I've been working on lately (which was like pulling teeth to get enough spare time...)...
...but now I have a problem. I'm conflicted over whether to fill in the background and make it dark, or leave it white, or anything in-between like a wider border, lines, etc... (Suggestions abound at home, but they all conflict also - family's no help!)
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
