When the World Broke (Open RP)
(([ QUOTE ]
Suddenly, Essex and Phillis teleported.
[/ QUOTE ]
Uhm...I think they flew, lol))
[ QUOTE ]
By the time Thuel reached the porch and could see Lyden again, he had already jumped down into the next alley and was running down it. Glancing over his shoulder for a moment, he could see bits and pieces of Thuel poking out from behind the mesh and railing. Thuel would also see now that Lyden had his pistol out, but didn't have it raised as if he was going to shoot at him.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thuel had jumped down from the fire exacpe at Lyden, he was not going to let him get away, Thuel stopped for a few seconds, his robotic eyes zoomed in on him, he got a heat signature off of Lyden, Lyden was now locked on, he could run but as long as he was within a kilometer of Thuel, Thuel would find him.
[ QUOTE ]
Seeing his pursuer had caught up to him so quickly, Lyden tried to get out of the open as fast as he could, again by way of shooting the lock off the door closest to him- practically tumbling as he shouldered the door to force it open and ran inside. It was an abandoned warehouse, as large as it was cramped- stacks upon stacks of unmarked wooden crates made for narrow, blind hallways. Glinting in the light of the broken windows by the roof were several cables- above-ground winches and trollies that must have been shut down in place when the factory closed. Several still had crates balanced precariously on them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thuels eyes zoomed in on the gun, just as it had been fired at the lock, his heatsensor in his eyes went haywire when the gun was fire, they were off line. He zoomed his eyes out, and let Lyden go inside ahead of him. "Kommandant, your potsition has been masked? Is something wrong?" he heard in his head a robotic voice asking him. He shut off his cominucator after the last transmission from HQ got in. He turned on his stealth suit and walked in.
He walked through the makeshift hallways of unmarked cargo boxes, tapping them with his hand while walking along. "Awwh, scre' walkin' " He said to himself and started his teleportation sequence. He teleported through the halls, straight twards the red, green, yellow, and brown figure he saw through his eyes, the heat sensor had come back online.
"Owww son of a-" He teleported into a wall, he had to walk the rest of the way, now. He was sure Lyden could have heard the thump from when Thules adamantium chest, coverd with a flack jacket, hit the crates.
((Heat Senseing eyes + Teleportation = 'Zomg whered he come from' Deadly combo actualy, he pauses to get a heat match, then your locked on till your dead or you out run him, by a kilometer. He basicly teleported to Lydens location, well a hallway off of his potsition, one of the boxes were filled with a Teleport Dampening Device.))
OOC: >_> You people are hijacking my thread. <_<
Not that I'm complaining. I like where this is going.
BIC: As Schizo's mind reached out to the black dots, now recognizable as massive double rotored heleicopters, he encountered a sort of psychic shield. He felt, or knew, that at such a range his powers would have no effect on whoever was in those craft, not even something as minor as giving them a slight headache.
And the number of people were slightly unusual. One helicopter only had two minds in it that Schizo could detect, both of them in the cockpit. Two other helicopters had a multitude of minds belonging to some very fanatical soldiers. The remaining two had minds that creaked with age but were filled with the same zealous devotion as the still living ones. There was also a lone anamoly, a mind that seemed almost as mad as Schizo's.
What Hal saw were a quartet of massive black cargo helicopters with glowing runes enscribed on their sides. The runes pulsed angrily, as though reacting to something, and the bulbous machine gun turrets on either side of the helicopters were aimed directly at Hal and Schizo. Hal also sensed that the helicopters began moving even faster, if that could be believed.
Within half a minute, the five helicopters would be overhead, machine guns blazing at the two, while their troops deployed.
**********************************************
OOC: DAMN IT! Stupid people confusing me from the truth.

The target was sighted. The target would die. Like all the others. And then the other officers. They would die as well. Quickly, perhaps, or maybe messily.
Messily would work. It would put more fear in the survivors.
Clinging to the ceiling, the assassin known as the Ivory Engine silently crawled forward, following Rosalind and waiting for the oppertune moment to strike.

Xey had been flying looking down on the proceedings trying to figure out a course of action. Xey was almost positive that he could carry away Lyden if need be. Xey lost sight of Lyden when he went in the building and was about to go after him when he got the impression that Thuel had sensed him so he backed off and tried to pick out Lyden when he came out ....if he came out.
Xey seeing Lyden shooting the lock and running in the warehouse and Thuel run in after him Xey decided to land on the roof and look through the windows to see if he could see Lyden or Thuel. He could not from his vantage point so after Thuel past him, only saw the flash of tp and hoping that was Thuel, Xey quietly landed and furled in his wings and started walk slowly ready to run away or help depending on whats going to happen.
((ooc Xey basically has no idea what has happened and is slowly, slowly regaining memory of what used to be. basically he can be influenced into being good, bad, or neutral; will most likely believe first one to talk to or captured by ))

Hal and Schizo did not really need to scan further.
"Ohhhhhh no you don't," said the Phantasm as it appeared in the path of the helicopters. Waves of light flew at the craft as they picked up speed.
Hal and Schizo, meanwhile, had disappeared. Or at any rate, anyone with a mind of any sort would think so, unless they expected this trick. Everyone within about a mile would hallucinate into thinking the two had vanished completely, regardless of what their equipment showed them . . . if they COULD hallucinate, that is. . .
((Apologies, Devious. :3 I though saying "Group Fly" in the previous post and having them slip in through the window was enough. But I guess it was kinda sudden. ))

"Owww son of a-" He teleported into a wall, he had to walk the rest of the way, now. He was sure Lyden could have heard the thump from when Thules adamantium chest, coverd with a flack jacket, hit the crates.
[/ QUOTE ]
A bit of dust fell off the top crates down onto Lyden on the other side of the stack- pointing his pistol in the direction of the sound, he could immediately tell what his opponent had- to get so close so fast he had to have teleported, and to find him so quickly he would have to be tracking him somehow- and, as he knew he hadn't been hit with a tracer, it had to be heat vision. Not good- not good at all.
He held his pistol out a moment longer as he heard Thuel's steady approach, then was reminded again how he most definitely did not want to dig himself into a bigger hole by lethally engaging the apparent leader of the unit. Watching the hall infront of him and trying to anticipate when Thuel would appear, Lyden holstered his pistol and used that hand to reach around to his belt. He firmly clutched a cylindrical grenade and pulled it free from its bindings, then with a flick of his thumb, pulled the pin out and began cooking the fuse. Written in small white letters on one side of the thing were the words "GSR PANIC INCAPACITATION GRENADE".
Lyden waited.
Youd be paranoid as well, if everyone were out to get you! Midas spat as he lifted off into the air, staying down at rooftop level as the two zoomed away and took refuge in a warehouse a few buildings down from his base. The concealed attic made a wonderful place to hide. He didnt want to give his location away for followers.
He was also very upset about leaving his robots behind. They were all he had to defend himself and keep himself alive. They were the groundwork for his new army. If he couldnt keep them long enough to begin improving them, his work would never bear any fruit. As his feet clapped onto the ground, tears began to form in his eyes. He shakily reached up and set Essex on the floor, trying not to whimper.
It became much harder to avoid bawling as the sirens began to blare throughout the streets, and the warning rang out. He sat down on his bottom, hard, wincing and letting a trembling curse pass his lips. This was his life, but it was all so wrong. This was too different from what he had expected to wake up to, but he knew that really shouldnt be the case. That damned Philosophers Stone was more than likely hiking up his already tremendous levels of paranoia. Where had it come from, anyway? And why did it tell such an outrageous story?
He rubbed his eyes with his hands and wiped his tears away, entirely unsure of their next step. If the Secret Police found the Phillisbots, they could track his base, and find him. Plus, he would never know what the Stone actually was. His work would be gone, he would be made a priority to find, especially for causing this commotion, and the child would go down with him. He wiped his eyes again.
When his vision cleared, Acid was standing in front of him.
ASSASSIN! he howled as he threw himself back against the wall, reaching into his empty pocket for a weapon, despite knowledge that contradicted the foolish notion. He quickly scurried forward again and grabbed Essex, running back to the wall and setting her behind him protectively.
For the last time, tell me what the hell you are and what your intentions are! Midas demanded furiously, sounding as though he could actually back up his angry tone, though it was obvious he couldnt.
Fracas, Kibitzer, and Imbroglio were on the ground, having lost power due to the EMP. The Old Grand Phillisbot Army, the good GPA, that is, was immune to such obvious tactics, but these new automatons werent nearly as
good.
Four of the helicopters scattered, dodging the blasts of light with an agility belying their size. Machine guns whirred and chattered as they opened fire on the Phantasm.
Meanwhile, the lone dropship that hadn't changed course slowed to a stop and let its back ramp drop open. About a dozen Steel Troopers jumped out, foot jets blazing as they touched down, immidiately spreading out to surround Hal and Schizo, their sensors unimpeded by Hal's hallucinations.
Then, the helicopter seemed to tilt heavily toward the rear until a massive, gleaming white shape jumped out of it. The twenty foot tall man-shaped statue hit the ground with an earth-rumbling crunch, almost knocking several of the Steel Troopers over. Swiftly rising to its feet, the Adamantium Golem turned and focused its empty eye sockets on the two metahumans. A silent roar issued from its mouth as a second golem leapt from the helicopter and then it rushed forward, lumbering over the ground to smash the two into a smear on the ground.

Thuel walked steadly around to the corner, he cracked his neck, and heard a small click, possibly that of a grenade. Thuel reached down to where he had kept his grenades. Frag, no to messy and to loud, Sticky, yes, but what happens if we both have sticky grenades? Ion, no far to leathal to me in close combat. Concusion, yes it might dent my armor, or there always is roll a grenade, possibly a frag or a sticky. He thought to him slef.
"Ill get tactical here." He said to himself, quite sure Lyden had heard him. He walked 10 paces backwards, took a concsion grenade out, and tossed it over the makeshift wall, he heard the grenade hit the floor, He hadnt thought about this, but there was a window three feet away from where Lyden had been standing.
The grenade had a timer on it, ten second timer, it was at 7 by the time it had hit the ground. Thuel would poke his AR52CC around the corner and fire one shot in the general direction of Lyden. He quickly detatched his sniper barel and unloaded the bullets, then put in a magizne for Assualt Fire. He took safety OFF, and scelected the Single-Shot fireing. He counted down from 7 to 0.
"Woohoo! Awesome!" Schizo yelled in glee. "We're all gonna die! YEEHAAAAAAWWWW!"
"Dangit, STOP that!" Hal groaned, dashing out of the way. "Just get AWAY!" he yelled at the Steel Army troopers.
The air rippled as a massive electromagnetic pulse tore through the area, centered on Hallucinogen. It would instantly shut down almost any machine, and an average one would never work again.
"Hi, buddy!" Schizo yelled as the first golem's fists descended. They connected with a sickening SPLAT.
"See, now I'm dead!" Schizo's voice came from the resulting pile of rainbow-colored mush, swirling in dizzying, chaotic patterns. The mush shot onto the golem and crept up its body.
"No seriously, you got me!" Schizo's voice cackled as reality began going berserk around the glob of madness that was Schizo. The air turned into water, the ground turned into mud, and nearby rocks sprouted legs and began line-dancing. Something, at least, was likely to happen to the golem.
Meanwhile, the bullets seemed to just go through the Phantasm as it continued blasting away at the helicopters. . .
John gasped as Tam spoke his 'other' name. "...How... How the hell do you know my code name?! Only my superiors know that!" he almost shouted.
However, when he looked back to make sure Midas and Essex hadn't moved... Well, they had moved. He had no idea where they were, and spun quickly.
"Damnit!" He turned to Tam, balling his hands into fists, "You made me lose 'em! What the hell is wrong with you?!"
The first golem groaned and stumbled forward as one of its feet suddenly broke off and ran away. It fell forward almost onto Hal before it caught itself with its arms. At this point, the golem looked almost as though it was doing a push-up.
The second Adamantium Golem came up behind the first and grabbed Schizo, attempting to hurl the blob away where it could be safely fired upon by the Steel Troopers.
The Troopers were sturdily built, and while an EMP pulse wouldn't shut them down, it certainly did damage them. But a few of them recovered quickly and opened fire on Hal with their dual plasma cannons.
And up in the air, the helicopter that had deployed the Army of Steel unit flew back up into the air and opened fire on the Phantasm while two more helicopters retreated and hovered down to the ground, preparing to deploy more soldiers.

Essex clung tightly behind Dr. Phillis. The man could feel her shaking with fear.
A slight glow built around her for just a moment, but was immediately surpressed as the butterfly emblem on her forehead flashed momentarily.
"Please..." she whispered, barely audibly with her face pressed in Midas' labcoat. "Please be quiet, both of you. They'll find us..."
------------------------------------
Rosalind sat down at her desk, kicking up her feet. She reached into a drawer and pulled out some hard candy, sucking on it rather loudly as she scanned the teletype transcript with critical eyes.
Every once in a while, her gaze would flit to the framed picture on her desk.
Emry and Pherelith. The handsome white-haired magnolia spirit. The deranged, fun-loving zombie girl.
Both of them sent to the world beyond by the Overmagus.
Rosalind cursed under her breath. She never should have given Archlich that angel's blood. She was appropriately respectful, but she should have kept him at an arm's length.
Rosie supposed it was telling that he barely spared her life, as if in a mockery of thanks. But it came so much later, even after the three of them had stood against him. After so much had happened. Her eyes moved to a second photo - this one a portrait. Rosalind's gaze softened. The bouquet. Phe's green dress and racuous grin. Emry's black tuxedo, so striking against his white hair, and her own black hair striking against her white dress -
- wait.
Rosalind's gaze narrowed at the white shadow that had barely shifted.
"[censored] no." she growled, seemingly at the teletype.
Instantly twin berettas were unholstered as she whirled on heel, firing on the assassin-bot. Her eyes were narrowed painstakingly as she dropped her heel on a button.
Instantly alarms blared through the base.
"Security breach!!" she screamed through the intercom system.
You killed my best friend. Rosalind thought murderously as she rolled to evade the bot's fire.
You killed my husband. she glowered as she peppered it with armor-piercing rounds.
I refuse to [censored]' let you kill me. she thought in determination as she kicked over her desk, using it as a shield as she reloaded.

Acid sighed, confing off on his fingers as he answered, "Alright, in this order: first, I'm not an assassin. I don't do that kind'a work anymore. As to exactly who I am, depends on which rumor you believe. They call me Acid, so I've stuck with it. My intentions..."
He paused for a moment, not fiding the right words right away, "Uh, let's see...find Overhead, make a mess of him or her, take Malleus Mundi, return world to the way it was before all this mess happened."
That this'll end you and every other alternate version of everyone else you don't need to know. But your origonals were here first, so they've got priority.

"They'll find us anyway." Acid pointed out the obscured window with a thumb, "there's a whirly out there. Since it spotted us really fast the first time, I'm gonna assume it can track us too. That means your flight, Ess. I'm sorry, but you really messed up there. If I was the enemy, I'd be storming this building already."
Acid trned to the trench-coated man, the cat-lady, and rune-boy, "Alright, you three - can I rely on ya to not start anything for about ten seconds? Answer quickly, I don't think we've got much time...?"

"Paws off!" the Schizo-blob yelled, shooting into the air out of the golem's grasp. There was a flash of nauseating light, and Schizo had reformed, except that this time he had two heads.
"Whoops," the manifestation of madness cackled with his first head. "Ah well, you know what they say is better than one!"
Morons, the Phantasm said, enduring more bullet fire and flying towards the retreating craft, sending more waves of light at them as they tried to deploy more troops. It was beginning to flicker slightly, though.
"Agh! S, Schizo, can't you just fight normally?" Hal yelled, dodging cannon fire by leaping into the air, though it was grazing his shoulders and legs. A brilliant flash of light burst below his feet as he did so, likely scrambling the troopers' sensors for a while. Releasing the EM pulse had drained him, though, and he began to feel dizzy. . .
"Oooh, Hal-chan! I'll save you!" Schizo's second head simpered, grabbing Hal as he gained altitude. "Give us a kiss, loveums!"
"SHUT UP!" Hal yelled, now looking fully alert, and filling them both with radiation to keep up their strength.

Behind his mask, Lyden gritted his teeth at the shot- the panic grenade still cooking in his hand behind him. He spoke out, knowing he would be heard. His voice was strong and clear- fear entirely supressed.
"Unit Lyden has no intention of causing trouble or harm. Requesting permission to withdraw peacefully from the area!!"
He had just taken a step back, glancing at the chunk the one shot had taken out of the box beside him. Then he would hear the clinking of the grenade.
[ QUOTE ]
"HE THREW A GERNADE!!RUN!" yelled Xey as he ducked around the corner as Thuel got to five.
[/ QUOTE ]
Lyden didn't have to be told twice, dropping his own grenade as he darted around another corner. 'Panic' apparently meant 'Rave in a can'- going off, the grenade began to spin, flicker and howl- peals of sparks and jets of smoke and mostly harmless shrapnel flying everywhere as it ricocheted off the boxes in the corridor Lyden had dropped it- it was the best distraction he could hope for, as he ducked around another corner- and found himself face-to-face with Xey. Looking him- and his wings- over, His reaction was immediate, holding out his arms to hold onto and speaking with urgency over the howl of the grenade.
"We need to get out of here."
Three.. two..
Midas stared blankly at Acid, entirely shocked by what he was saying. This stranger had appeared out of nowhere, claiming he knew him, despite not knowing him at all, and now his story seemed to match up with the irritated gem's proclamations well enough to be considered more than coincidence.
The Mallus Mundi. He had no memory of that at all, but the gem claimed it was a book. Leave it to magic to twist the strands of reality into a cat's cradle! He had to get back to the lab, something was amiss, and he wasn't stupid enough to ignore it! Too much had happened to him to do so!
"I have an underground bunker not far from here, if you can teleport us there, I'll let you stay until this is over!" Midas interrupted.
"Flight?" Essex echoed, puzzled.
That's right... I flew.
But I could always fly.
Couldn't I?
She clung tenaciously to Midas' leg, only barely peeking out to stare at Acid suspiciously.
"I don't even know any of you people." she murmured softly, even as their names flashed through her mind. "I just want to go home... I just want to see my father..."

"One." BOOM
The crates adjacent to the greande were blown down, one fell on Thuel, the crate knocked Thuels black beret off, revealing a partialy exposed brain, and a small bundel of wires leading from where Thuels eyes were supposed to be connecting his robotic lenses to the computer imbeded into his brain. Thuel bent down to pick up his beret and put it back on.
Walking around the corner he waited and heard wings, flapping. "Avians?" He asked. He rounded the corner and fired another shot down the 'hallway'.
The panic grenade was spinning around on the floor, Thuel kicked the greande out the already broken window. "Now that that is out of the way-" He looked at Xey "Its like a goddammed bird-man!" He pointed his gun at both of them. "You both are under arrest, by Senior Opperative Thuel, please come with me, leathal force is authorised to be used." He tiped his beret with his free hand, his beret bared the Secret Police symbol.

((And now is the perfect time to introduce my second character. ))
The Underground.
In order to pose any sort of chance in this strict, oppressive world, you had to be strict and oppressive yourself. Meet the man where he's at. The men moved like clockwork, strictly on schedule, everyone in their place.
The sound of boots down the hallway, a quick, calculated step.
The sound of the boots was accompanied by the sounds of dozens of boots, responding in turn, clicking together sharply in salute. The commander didn't acknowledge the men, instead turning their attention forward.
"Status report. Now."
"We have reports of mobilizations at points 4x-20 through 32.beta12. Army of Death cordons located here, here, and here. Code Tangerine Dream at Point L.40."
"Good. Next order of business. Calibrate the nightvision scopes to 575 nanometers. It seems they're finding more ways to slip past. If we isolate that wavelength, we should be able to pinpoint much anything."
"Right. Commander, we have rumors of the Secret Police moving in certain civilian sectors. It seems Officer Danya is accompanying the patrols personally."
"Keep an eye on that situation. Feliks Danya is dangerous. I will not lose to him."
"Commander, the Overmagus' newest commands have been intercepted and are waiting for you in your office on teletype for analyzation."
"Good. What else?"
"The Cubs lost again."
"[censored]. I guess I owe you a five, Private."
The crowd of officers were allowed a chuckle, but their Commander remained serious-faced as the individual checked over some papers.
"...How are the Oranbegans doing?"
"Miserably, Commander. Despite the rallying of most of the existing totems and otherworldly phenomena to their aid, it seems the Overmagus has commanded a much larger stockpile of supernatural troops."
"Beh." the Commander spat, and whirled to face the officers, throwing the papers to the floor, along with her hat.
Long, black hair trailed to the middle of her back, white streaks framing her face. Canine ears clipped to alert triangles, usually hidden below a military-grade hat. What was once a black and white fluffy tail was now just a small protrusion of the tailbone, it having been lopped off in combat long ago.
The Commander of Sector Lambda of the Resistance looked somewhat strange surrounded by her best and brightest, as she herself resembled only a twenty-something girl with dog ears.
Rosalind.
"If I wanted to [censored] hear about the traitors that Overmagus Archlich has convinced to aid him, I'd request a report." she snarled. "Give me a list of the resources we do have. Keep the communications coming from Headquarters. And GOD DAMN IT, Jenkins, if you bring me one more cup of decaf I'll beat you to death with a rolled-up newspaper. I want [censored] answers, I want [censored] solutions, I want [censored] eyes on whatever the Secret Police is doing at ALL times. Do I make myself clear?"
"YES SIR!" the officers intoned as one.
"Good!" Rosie snapped back. "I'm going to be analyzing those teletypes. I want hourly status reports from each department, two minutes apiece. I want to know who, what, where, why, when, and how. Dismissed!"
With that, the were-human stalked back to her war room, mind cold with calculations.
She wasn't on the side of the Oranbegans. She wasn't on the side of the Mu.
Rosalind was on the side of freedom.
