FIRE!!!
[ QUOTE ]
FIRE!!! My question is... Is this good? I made it in Photoshop Elements, (I need to install the full version...) and I don't know if it's good, bad, ok, terrible, really good, OH MY GOSH IT'S TERRIBLE, or whatever... But down to the point for those who don't want to read all this. IS THIS FIRE GOOD?! Thank you.

GASP!!! That is so sweet looking! Good job!

Not bad! You should make it lighter in the middle, real fire is light yellow in the middle fading to dark red at the outer corners with a liiiiittle blue at the tips. But you did a really good job of blending! (what brush did you use?)
Thumbs up for doing this in elements, that program gives me fits!!! XD
I used 'chalk'. Just used different colors then smudged it.
PS: Here's another fire. I like the other one a lot better. I used a different brush on this one. It, um... kinda doesn't look right.
Here's an edited version of the first one... Is that better?
Not bad at all

Hmmm...I think a liiitle too much yellow in the middle and some of the outer edges still have the 'Chalk' texture and aren't blended...Besides that, looks great!

3rd is the best I like the blend of colors used makes a very nice realistic fire effect

They look very stylized! There's nothing wrong, but I reccommend, if your especially going for a realistic style, that you place a liiiiiiitttttttle bit of white in the very center. I think that could help.
You all have very good advice on this, and I'll probably edit it sometime... Thanks very much.
That is glorious <. .>m

OK... it's getting better and better...
the yellow should be at the source of the fire... blending through orange and red as the flames progress outward. so moving it a bit down would help. same goes for "detached" flames -- base yellow, blending thru to red at the tips.
also you can distort the space around the fire and above it to show heat - if you have a background, just use a light smudge and wavy motion to blur it a little.... gaussian blur effect from a brush works really well for that.

"... the yellow should be at the source of the fire...."

I disagree. The source should be white.
When I paint fire, I use a couple specific steps;
1 - Start with the smoke and paint in dirty browns. Use broad, soft strokes.
2 - Move in tighter and start adding reds, making the color a little more pure.
3 - Move in tighter still and paint some oranges.
4 - Move in to just outside the source and paint some pure yellows.
5 - Finally, at the very middle, paint some white.
Fire is tricky to do, and it's great that you're trying to tackle something so difficult. Each piece you posted is getting better and better.
