Hate to start a new thread for this but...
hmmmm. I'll have to look at it with fresh eyes tomorrow...but it looks good!

I think you should go for a walk. Buy a new CD. Determine which three tracks are your favorites. Listen to them until you only sort of know the words. Then listen to the rest of the CD and force yourself to like the tracks you didn't at first. Then, when you're sick of that, go back to the picture with some of your favorite music playing and perhaps things with just make sense. Works for me sometimes.
That's certainly a unique approach hehe >,<
I gotta find something <;.;> Crimson_Jimson Pmed me some suggestions that I'm thinking on. Just not sure; I was soooo happy with this at first and I'm really not happy now. Blah, if I start over this'll be the third drawing in a row to have to be re-drawn <x.x> (and the previous 2 never did get finished)

I'd say this is an excellent pic, you just need to decide on a light source and put some shadows in. Heck, if you're using a digital program like psp or photoshop, temporarily use the DropShadow feature to figure out where blotches would go under the ripped clothing. It looks fine to me.
(My one crit would be that the nose line would be more U shaped instead of ^ shaped because of the angle that we're seeing the face.)

I don't neccassarily think a RE-Draw is needed. Just some tweaks Squirrel.
Okay, my take:
Since you're going for a sort of light blast, the shadows will need to contrast VERY sharply with the color you're working with. Also, I'd suggest making the shadows more "sharp" instead of the softness that an airbrush would give.
Another thing you could do, that I sometimes do when shading, is to make a layer called 'shading' fill in a few ovals with black, hit them with like an 8 point guassian blur, turn the opacity down and then move them around, scale them, distort them etc, to give you an idea of a layout. it lets you play with a lot of possibilities without commiting to any of them, and pretty dang quick too.
Hrmm... >.< thankies all. I have much thought to put into this yet then <~.~>; I hate hate hate HATE getting stuck >.< especially when its on something I was happy with. Same way with my writing <X.x>

Do it tomorrow when you have a fresh mind.
Just my advice.
... I need information and this is the only way to make sure the people who need to see this will >.<;
Basically Yumii WIP
I'm stuck.
I've gotten to this stage and I can't seem to 'feel' the shading like I usually do... I have no freaking clue what's wrong >.< I've been after this most of the afternoon and evening and just... nothing. As you probably have noticed - not alot has changed since the last version. Exactly the problem >< Every time I try to add something it just looks totally wrong. I'm up for any suggestions. Do I need to go back, ink the orignal and start over? Re-draw the pic even? Do I just need to give it a rest? <-.-> I'm stumped.
Sorry again for starting a new thread over this <-.->; I'd use the old one but I suspect I wouldn't get as many opinions, which are sorely needed.
