Artists taking commissions?
hehe....
1. price range varies to the artist, from free to 300+ (this depends on the piece your looking for though.
2. browse this site and you can see all their work and multiple pieces of said work. I would look to the threads with the most "hits" for starters...then work your way out from there.
3. depends on their work load. a few are on a "que" as they are not only doing work from here but else where as well. so you would have to contact them to find out exactly what the current turn around time is expected to be.
just a quick run down...cause I'm bored...lol~

Yeah, well I know prices vary, thats why I am asking! *grin*
I would browse, but there are so many artists. . . its easier to try and see if they will take notice of someone wanting to comission some peices ,over digging through hundreds of posts. >.>

I'd rather ask for freebies... then again, the talent displayed here just freaks me out. I'm afraid to ask.
BTW - Do not post after several glasses of wine... proofreading is freakin hard!
indeed, there are quite a few of them here....and all are fine artists indeed. is there a specific style or price range? more details you provide could possibly mean faster responce time...I dunno. anywho. good hunting and I really would poke around...some of the stuff you find here can really be stunning. ~

Another way to see what sort of art you like is to browse through Thor's Assassin, Rowr's or Katfood's art pages, they have quite a few pictures and information/links to the artists they commissioned. Hope this helps.
Thor's Assassin
Rowr
Katfood
Thank you for the advice and links, but right now, trying to avoid from devising many, many messages to artists who may or may not be up for comisions right now. Since they must get their fair share of messages. I was hoping with this thread that those who are interested in such would find it ,and those who aren't won't be bothered.
(hope I'm not out of line for providing this! )
But there's, of course Gill Bates' at MMOART.com
and there's Guildhelper.com
and there's RPvisions.com
and there's TonyTobinArt.com
to name only four of them - but there's many, many more!
If this is true, then I guess nevermind this thread. I unfortunately do not have the patience to go through and mail every artist I can find on this forum inquiring about comissions. Nevermind the fact i know I would start mailing the same person multiple times as names blend together.
So, sorry for spamming up the forums, but if its not talked about and whatnot ,then there is no helping that. Thank you for those who did give links to some sites, and for letting me know I was asking to much here.
Well a quicker way is to browse one of our galleries and PM us about prices we paid for it also.
I plan on having a guide up soonish for just this very thing!
You weren't asking too much. but if you want to commission some art, YOU have to be the one doing all the footwork. The artists aren't going to come to you, and people aren't gonna contact artists on your behalf.
Look around at the artists, see if any fit the style you're looking for, then send them a message, email, IM, PM, whatever. If you can't keep track of who you're talking to well... that's what organizers are for. Notepad. Excel. Etc.
And believe me, most of these artists would LOVE to hear from you... but the mere fact that they are busy DOING art, doesn't mean they have time to browse the forums looking for people REQUESTING art. Even for commissions. But if you contact them, since this is their livelyhood, it's a pretty safe bet they won't turn YOU down... you are the customer after all.
And on that note, do you have your groceries delivered to you, or do you have to go to the grocery store and pick stuff out? Same kinda thing with commissioning artists.
Sorry if this sounded kinda snarky. It's very late and I'm upset that my team lost tonight.
Upon re-reading this post after waking up, I've chosen to take it down. I feel it was not productive.

Yay! As I think my fiance is wickedly talented (he gets better with each piece, in my opinion) and since at least part of the proceeds for each of the commissions here goes to pay for our wedding, I whole-heartedly encourage you to consider him for a commission.
However, someone that has been a pleasure to do business with and I find incredibly talented is Brandon McKinney, whose work you can find at McKinneyart.com. He's another great choice that hasn't been mentioned yet.
I will be free (I use that word as in avaliable) in October for mroe work. Feel free to check out my Gallery in my siggy.
Since you asked...
Here's my website commissions page. Samples and prices are all there. I'm available, but have a pretty long waiting list.
DouglasShuler.com
Feel free to check out my website as well. I keep in touch with all of the artists I've met through conventions and commissioned, many of which don't actually post on these forums. If you like a certain artist, I can give you their contact information, but after that, you're on your own.
Will work for food, or as my portly friend would say -
" I would gladly pay you Tuesday for a Hamburger today... " - Wimpy
Send me a screenshot.
Thank you for the responses that have come up this morning! I am already looking through gallerys, and getting some decent quality screenshots. Thank you, again!
Also check out Graver
I know he's kind of backed up right now so you'd have to wait a couple of months for a finished product.
As for the price discussion taboo, the Mods have been deleting threads with prices in them and there has been dark mutterings of lawsuits against the charging artists, since they're *technically* drawing the game's intellectual property (even if the characters are our invention ). So it's best not to tickle the sleeping dragon.
*giggles*
hey who tickled me ?
(on topic) Stars correct , so tread carefully when asking about pricing information
I'm taking commissions right now. You can view my fledgling gallery in my sig below.
Feel free to PM me if you want to discuss things!
That was something I as not aware of, troubles like that. Makes much more sense, then, why its something not to discuss, as that reason was not previously divulged. Thank you for letting me know!
Ya, that whole taboo thing makes it a touch more difficult for the art hunters but all you need to do is just ask us artists artists and we're always more then happy to zap the info over too you... we don't bite, seriously
Either way, as Starchasm said, I is a bit backed up, but if your looking for something a bit left of normal, then I'd be more then happy to add you to my queue
You can see my work at
graver13.deviantart.com
I'll also be updating things there tonight with a way you could possibly move up in my queue and all that.... busy busy busy with the painting right now though
Hey I wanna move up too send mean IM Graver
Hello to all you Co~ artist types out there across the various servers and the two games!
I have a fairly simple question for you all. Actually, it skind of a multi part question.
1) How much do you charge for commissions?
2) Can I see some of your work to get a idea for your artistic style?
3) Are you willing to take commissions currently?
I and another are looking for comissions, and I thought how better to find the artists, then to ask for them? So, here it is! Feel free to either send me a message, or reply here.
