((Right, should have made that clear My mistake. They're located several blocks away from Tharomar Enterpises, on the roof of another building. And, to answer some other questions before they're asked...

No, Tharomar's R & D Department is NOT completely destroyed, though it's on fire now (should be easy enough to repair with the company's resources)

I'm pretty sure my two characters were the only two left in the R & D Department, so there really shouldn't be any casualties...

I'm pretty sure the scientists at Tharomar backed up the data for Project Forecast... if not, then the necessary tech and data for the Project should still be unharmed... yes, miraculously undamaged the explosions, somehow

Really, I didn't mean for the bombing of the R & D lab to be anything more than another explosion at the office attack right now. It worked well with my characters' stories, so do with it what you will The office is UNDER ATTACK right now, after all. It shouldn't be THAT surprising for another explosion to occur, should it? ))

Meanwhile at the hospital, the unexpected fallout of explosives going off in the Tharomar building had shattered windows and caused debris to rain upon the traffice below, which in turn caused accidents, which caused work for the nurses and doctors at the hospital.
(OOC: Hey, gotta give the rest of us something to do other than stare at two burning buildings
EDIT: OK one burning building >_>)

The explosion shook the entire building. This wasn't what moved Clarence Thomas. The reverberation didn't cause panic in him. Then he heard the only two frames on his wall land with a thud and crack. Clarence broke his concentrated glare at Jennifer and gave a blank one to his wall where the frames were hanging.

"And this meeting is done," Clarence smiled.

One button on the computer displayed various camera options about the building. He switched on the infrared monitors and listening beacons and scanned the different areas of the building.

Tharomar was the least of his concerns. It was the secondary explosion in R & D that finally caused him to nearly have a panic attack. McCourd better still be in this building burning in that fire as well.

He pulled out his cell phone and dialed the Doctor. As he did, he walked over to where his frames were and pressed on of three colored buttons that had been behind the million dollar check. Instantly a portion of the wall split open like something out of Star Trek and he stepped inside. He turned to face forward and noticed Doctor Morse still in the room. The door closed and he leaned back against the wall.

He thought for a moment.

The sliding doors opened once again and he beckoned Dr. Morse to join him.

"Merry Christmas," was all he said to her as the doors closed once more.

It was just like any of the other elevators, except this one in particular only whent to certain floors of interest. He pressed two of the buttons and felt a quick jolt as the apparatus made its descent.

"McCourd, what the hell is going on in the R & D section," Clarence's voice was low, but there were subtleties about the anger he was trying to supress.

"What the hell are you talking about? I'm no longer in the building," Etahn's voice emulated surprise

Clarence's thoughts immediately raced with ideas of espionage and treachery, but shyed it away as he figured McCourd for being smarter than that. Thomas was sure he valued his life.

"Where is the Z-chip," his demeanor had changed from anger to simple rushed inquisition

"It's in the safe in my office. The one Mr. Tharomar gave me. What's going on," it was the Doctor's turn to get angry.

He immediately hung up, having all he needed. In the same moment, the elevator reached a secret location on the ground floor of the building near the security shack. Sliding doors opened up and Clarence motioned for the good Doctor to step out.

"Seeing as how the threat's up there, you should be safe down here. I suggest a quick return home," the doors closed on that note and Thomas continued down to the R & D section.

Dr. McCourd pulled over to the side of the road, looking down at his phone after Mr. Thomas had hung up, "Damnit, Old Man. What the hell is going on?"

He began cycling through his address book in the phone and called Vanessa. It rang a few times, but she picked up, her breathing in a heavy panic.

"Nessa. What's going on over there? Your boss just called me acting like he was the Spanish Inquisition."

"Umm, umm..." Vanessa's voice was shaky as she tried to find the words to say. Her eyes averted left and right, panic filled them, "I dont know. One minute I'm here working," Vanessa dashed to the fire escape doors, "and the next. Boom!"

Gunfire could be heard over the phone as Vanessa closed the large metal doors.

"I'm comin' back over there." Dr. McCourd hung up the phone and burned out his rear tires. He pulled a fast 180, using the E-brake and headed back to the Tharomar building. As he approached, traffic was stopped and he couldn't get closer.

"No Ethan don't. Its too dangerous. Just... Ethan? Ethan? Hello," Vanessa slammed her phone shut and opened the door to her working floor. She dashed quickly to her desk and grabbed her things before she burst through the doors of Clarence's office. Vanessa pressed the same button Thomas had and the sliding doors opened up, revealing nothing but the elevator shaft.

Figures.

The local Police and Fire Department had already blocked off the roads. Ethan slammed his fist on the steering wheel, and got out of the car. He could see smoke rising from the CEO offices.

Why had Clarence asked about R&D?

"There," he adjusted his glasses again, turning back toward Travis. "So, what did you need?"

"Well... honestly, I'm not sure," Travis ran a hand through his hair.

Walter just stared at him, clueless.

"Ok," Travis said, starting from the beginning and told him all about Preston and how he had been acting so strangely lately.

"I mean, he's always so jovial and stuff," Travis emphasized on the word jovial.

"Now, I couldn't even get two words out without offending him. It was like, everything about me just.... made him mad. What did I do," Travis' tone took an offensive, "I mean its not my fault I'm in shape. Its not my fault I can finish puzzles faster than him. Or that I know how to speak up and not be talked down to. I mean... whatever," arms folded, he gave up on trying to figure any of it out.

“Ah, s’a real shame.” B.L.Z. Bub shook his head as he watched the police and fire department begin to deploy around the office building. “That ‘mount a’ ‘splosives woulda been ‘nuff t’ kill 50, no... 60 top a’ da line soldiers.”
“Yay! It’s done it’s done it’s done!” Lucy shouted happily. She showed the monitor of her computer to B.L.Z. Bub. “All electronic data of Natas’s project has been completely wiped from Tharomar Enterprises records.” Lucy smiled proudly. “Even the most skilled technician wouldn’t be able to find a trace of the data!”
Even though the explosives were planted all over the R & D Section of Tharomar Enterprises, the actual target had been Dr. Darrow’s laboratory. Each explosive had been planted close enough to Dr. Darrow’s laboratory to cause the maximum amount of damage, but far enough away from Dr. Darrow’s laboratory to make the attack look like simple corporate espionage. Indeed, at this moment at Tharomar Enterprises, Dr. Darrow’s lab was completely destroyed, and every trace of Dr. Darrow’s and Dr. Natas’s work was burnt to a crisp.
“A’right. Looks like r’ job’s done ‘ere.” B.L.Z. Bub said, activating a small device in his trenchcoat. In the next moment, B.L.Z. Bub and Lucy Fir were gone.

"I'll leave things to you then." Tharomar nodded to the medic in appreciation and ducked out his door, quickly rounding the corner as he waited for the battle to subside.

'Security' was an excellently trained force. They shouldn't take too long. He just hoped his office didn't suffer too much collateral damage.

Thinking of this, he stepped into a wall niche. If anyone wanted to get him here, they would have to close to melee range...

One of the commandos noticed him run. Not being foolish enough to get in melee range he tossed a flashbang grenade at Tharmoar and switched firing modes to the under the barrel projectile launcher or UBPL.

Tharomar whistled nonchalantly as the grenades sailed by in th other hallway. He'd rounded a corner, then hidden in a niche - those were two ninety-degree bends. No, grenades weren't going to get him here. The only thing he had to worry about was someone actually getting past the soldiers in his office and closing to melee range...

The soldiers stopped firing a moment. They then suddenly turned around and sprinted back up the stairs to the roof.

"Evac proceedure 101 Alpha. Subject Maltans attacking base. Go go go!" To cover their tracks they tossed behind a smoke grenade.

But Jack was hot on their tails. He sprinted after them, laser rifle blasting them in the back as they ran for their extraction. They reached the roof and prepared to jump off the skyscraper.

"Jetpacks on!" They all pushed a button and the backpacks they had on truned into jetpacks.

Jack suddenly grabbed one and snapped his neck. He moved flidly afterwards, trying to shoot their leader. The commandos just closed to melee range and tossed Jack over the building.

"Command this is unit 201 Alpha, en route home. Mission aborted."

The security officer fired one more blast from the cryo-cannon, freezing one of the enemies mid flight and sending him crashing down all the dozens of stories to shatter on impact with the street.

"Oh [censored]!" Vasquez screamed as he attempted to pull Jack back with a teleporter device.

"SIR! SIR!" One of the mercenaries screamed, running down the hallway and looking for Tharomar.

The ensuing chaos saw fit to allow a new knight to enter this complex game of chess.
Father Christopher McMahon, a devout catholic 'Paladin' strode up to the hospital, forcing orderlies and nurses pushing gurneys to go around him, swearing all the way.
His objective had made itself known. The tall, dark haired man grinned behind a pair of spectacles.
Without warning, a careless paramedic's gurney slammed into him. He didn't flinch.
"MOVE IT YOU [censored] [censored]! THIS PATIENT-GURK!" the paramedic couldn't finish before he was impaled by a cross-shaped dagger.
"Thou shalt not take the lord's name in vain, child. Now thou must repent in hell," the priest said calmly, letting the paramedic's body flop to the ground.
"Mina Leslios," he said to himself, "Thou must repent as well."

Penny stayed in the stairwell with Milly, shielding the younger girl as best as she could. She grit her teeth.

This was absolutely ridiculous! Ernesto was out there...

No. She had to stay here and protect Milly. The girl looked absolutely petrified. Penny growled to herself in annoyance. There had to be something she could -

-...She looked at her hand absently, and had to rub her eyes. For a brief moment, it seemed like she could...see right through it. And Milly, too. As if the both of them had been translucent for only a brief moment.

Ridiculous. Penny thought, dismissing the strange occurence.

The unmistakable sound of a gun being cocked sounded behind Father McMahon’s back.
“Now what’s this?” Reverend Christopher Ghost observed the fallen paramedic, his eyes settling on the cross-shaped dagger in his chest.
Reverend Christopher Ghost, a devout Protestant, wore a long, flowing white robe over his black shirt and white pants. He had short, black hair and piercing blue eyes, which were at the moment watching his opponent for any sudden movements. He held his dual Holy Pistols in his hands, the symbol of the Cross marked over the barrel of the gun, and aiming straight at the priest’s head.
“I only came to this city because I had heard rumors that the Science Coalition was once again up to their usual blasphemous actions, trying to convert a local scientist into their fold, so that he could continue to commit sins against God’s Will. But...” He narrowed his eyes at the priest. “It seems that the Vatican has already sent one of their lap dogs to this city so that they can continue to extol the will of the Catholic Church rather than the Will of God. Now tell me...” Ghost’s voice grew even lower and deeper. “Are you a member of the Children of God? If not, what’s your business in this city? Did you come in search of the Science Coalition, as well?”

((This sounds like the beginning of a bad joke: So a catholic and a protestant walk into a hospital...))

Ernesto didn't find anyone else on the floors he checked, though he did spend several moments at each stairwell exit shouting, "If you can hear, come to the sound!"

When a second explosion rocked the tower he dashed back out into the stairwell, one again warding himself with the sign of the cross. He leapt onto the handrail. Holding his weight off the ground with his arms, Ernesto leaned out into the center of the stairwell and looked up several floors.

"Miss Penny! Miss Milly! Are you still here? I find nobody else, we should go down! No es safe!"

"GET OUT OF THE BUILDING!" Came a roar from up the stairs, and one of Vasquez' personal troopers came stomping down, his gun still smoking and a panicked look on his face.

If there was one thing Ernesto had learned growing up in Mexico it was that you do what the man with the gun says when he says it and you don't ask questions.

"My business does not concern you, heathen, nor does it concern these scientists," Father McMahon said, not even turning around to face his accuser, "If you wish to visit your judgement upon the heretical scientists, that's your business. My business is with a witch who could very well be the anti-Christ. So says His Holiness and our Lord Jesus Christ. Squashing heretical scientists means nothing to us, as it would just serve to defame the name of Jesus Christ."

Reverend Ghost couldn’t help but smile inwardly at his adversary’s comment. Of course, the Children of God didn’t officially exist, and even some of the highest-ranked members of the clergy weren’t aware of their existence. Ghost himself only knew of their existence from his past encounters with them... the numerous scars on his body were proof enough of their existence.
True, the fact that a secret group of Catholics, acting on direct orders from the Vatican, were at war with scientists WOULD be seen by many to “defame” the name of the Catholic Church... but that would only be the case for those who knew half of the whole truth.
Though Ghost hated the Children of God and the Catholic Church with a burning passion, he had never once faulted them for their actions against the members of the Science Coalition. He had seen first-hand the lengths that the members of the Science Coalition would go to attain “the logical advancement of human society”. No, if the public knew the truth, the REAL TRUTH...
“An Anti-Christ, huh?” Ghost said, narrowing his eyes at Father McMahon. “So tell me... what did that paramedic you’ve killed have to do with this ‘Anti-Christ’? Or was that just another way of serving ‘His Holiness’ and Jesus Christ?”

"He used the name of our lord in vain, surely that is a sin in your sect as well, unless your order disregards the Ten Commandments. Worse yet, he did so in the presence of an ordained priest, an even higher sin," Father McMahon responded, still not facing the Reverend.

"Hmph." Ghost narrowed his eyes once more. "Just like a Catholic to disregard one Commandment to uphold another." He trained his pistol on the priest. "And to uphold the Will of God on Earth, I have no choice-"
At that moment, a bullet whizzed past Ghost's face, a very narrow miss. Jumping back, Ghost looked past the priest to face this new attacker.
"Well well well..." B.L.Z. Bub smiled, observing his quarry. "Two 'ligious idjits n' one place... Mus' be m' lucky day." B.L.Z. Bub steadied a sword in one hand and a gun in the other. "Name's B.L.Z.
