I think the Replete as girl is really cute <,<
And the second one reminds me a great deal of some of the "Tall brooding" type manga characters I've liked (Namely, Lantis from Magic Knight being the one who most readily springs to mind)

Looks awesome to me so far, on both counts!
Though, just because a lady wears armor doesn't mean she can't have something that, er. Displays... her assets... that's not coming out right at ALL.
What I meant to say, is that oftentimes armor stylized for a female body (most often decorative in most realistic cases that I can think of) are done so as to take into account the more complicated female shape - with specific plates covering the breasts.
Just a gripe. 
It's a cute piece all the same, and I don't think you should change it for the world.
See - I usually accomodate that in my own armor stylings - but I thought it was really unique that he left that out <,<;;
What's especially funny about that to me though is <'x'>
Well, to put it bluntly - I give my almost flat chested catgirl 'boob armor' as it were (I can't think of a better way to say it <,< "breast" plate? <'x'> sorry!); yet I've seen other flat-fronted armors for characters with uhm... large... ... assets yes... <,<

Well, historically, most women that actually used combat-worthy stuff most likely borrowed or stole it, and were pretending to be male anyway, no matter how well endowed they really were. Very few exceptions to this, I'm afraid, given the prevalence of male domination in ancient society.
That said, giving stylized chestpieces for female characters (whether they have anything or not) is a perfect way to keep the female identity clear in armored pieces, and adds a bit more detail. You don't -have- to (and I still like the piece of Replete), but it's something to keep in mind, and definately adds something to the piece itself.

Minor Threadjacking - YES I thought the facial image reminded me of someone - and I don't think I've ever run into a fellow Magic Knights Rayearth fan - Foo is my all time favorite anime/magna character!
Back to original topic - I actually prefer the armor choice in this pic. Which I must say, this pic and others that have been posted (like the new one by Scarf Girl) are the reason I have been attempting to pick up my pencil after 10 years (the ironic thing is I got a BA in Visual Arts back in college).

Rayearth was the first series I ever bought >< I was enamoured immediately. But then, I've become quite the CLAMP fan since, even though I've not gotten to complete any of their other series; I loved the start of everything else I've gotten ahold of >.>
My fav - Hikaru Shidou; she's cute; not 'physically cute' but just... I dunno >< its one of those things "I think I could get along with you quite well! <^_^>" things.
That, and I loved the way Lantis looked... he didn't get enough screentime to develop much; but his look is freaking awesome imho >_<

thanks, though i do have a request, if anyone here is good at inking could they try inking both female replete and the replete face sketch.I plan on coloring these but my blasted ink pens have run dry and i can't buy any new ones till next week T_T
