Avatar Assistance Needed

Right now I've been working on a custom Avatar for my main, TankerBot. Only problem is now that i've finished it, I need to get the wmv file into a gif format. I've almost got it there, but have to spend some $40 dollars for the software. As I dont have the money to do so, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas or suggestions as to how I can go about doing this.

Well, personally, I just use Animation Studio (which is usually packaged with Paint Shop Pro). I'm -pretty- sure you can likely find an older version (I usually run 5, though I have 9 on here... Just hate the interface) somewhere for a lot cheaper (and possibly free).

But, other then that, I have no clue. >.>

If ya can send me the wmv, or upload it for download, I think I can convert it for ya.

That would be awsome, I just dont know any places that do that. I'm still learning this whole avatar and uploading stuff. Thankfully im a quick learner

Well, what I tend to do for just a one-time thing is to use Yousendit.com.

You can go there, enter your own e-mail, and then pick the file you want to upload.. then you can just send the link to the file to someone.

Or, you could enter my e-mail there, upload, and it would e-mail the link directly to me.

Whichever ya'd rather do. My email is Catmin@Gmail.com.

Sorry it took so long, but here ya go. Unfortunately, I think the file size may be too large, but at least ya have something to work with.

I'm going to try and get it smaller in the meantime. If I manage something before you do, I'll post it.

Really awsome job ;D thanks immensly for the help. Just curious but is it supposed to be slow like that? It's cool if there's nothin you can do about it, just wondering.

Well I uploaded it to my photobucket account, and it came out about a 4X4 box. . Its hilarious. Yeah the file is about 1.2 meg to big. No harm done, kinda funny really. If you get a chance to resize it just let me know, but please dont feel rushed to do it. Since you did this out of the kindness of your heart, just whenever you feel like it.

I am puzzled here. If you are only looking for an Avatar of your character.. why take it from some low-rez video at all? Why not just do a quality in-game Screen-shot, crop and re-size it?

Trying to make an entire avatar animated .GIF video from that entire display and squeeze it all the way down into some 80x80 display field just to get all the Titling in, will be ummm... a challenge for viewing to say the least. They'll be calling him, "Tiny TankerBot."

I thought I would give it a shot. I made the video as small as i could when i made the video. So its not a huge scale down.

We will see how it looks
