ShadowDruid in 3D
I'm impressed you bothered with the dynamic cloth simulation. I've messed with it a little and never got the results I wanted, and considering the time it takes, I gave up on it.
I'd recommend some post-work on the ground. A couple of minutes in Photoshop can turn the flat plane into a nice, grassy field. There's even a 'grass blade' brush that will do all the work =)
Thanks, DJ. I wish I knew how to do that... and I wish I had Photoshop. Does anyone know if PSP has a similar kind of thing? I'd love to learn how to do that kind of thing.
Also... I have to confess, in my original vision for this pic, you wouldn't be able to see the ground at all. The forest prop set that I got includes a "mist" prop that is supposed to make it look like the ground is covered in mist. Unfortunately, I couldn't get it to work. It looks like this in the preview window, but it looks like this when it's rendered. The prop seems to be just a one-sided square with a texture map and transparency map, placed at a 45 degree angle just in front of the scene. So, I have no idea why it's rendering the way it is. I wrote to the email address in the readme file, but have gotten no response. Any Poser experts out there have any idea why it's not working right?
((Sartori, I owe you thanks. It's amazing, and I'm very honored. Thank you for taking the time to put so much detail into it. I think you've captured her just perfectly.
/em praise))

Here's what I was talking about regarding the grass. It's a basic Photoshop brush that randomizes the color on a scale between any two you chose. Then, you just 'paint' back and forth and the grass blades are drawn in. I like to start in the back and move forward as I paint to help blend it all together. I also vary the colors to add seperate planes as I move forward.
Total time - 3 minutes.
Keep in mind, however... since Pyrria is clearly happy, this is all academic =)
Grass Sample
Nice pic. It would be nice if there was long dresses available in game. Hooded cloaks too.
Ooooh, DJ that looks awesome. I am envious of both the tools and knowledge it takes to do that kind of thing. I've looked for something similar in PSP, but either it doesn't exist or I'm overlooking it. If any PSP users out there know how to do the kind of thing DJ is talking about, please let me know! Meanwhile, I'll just have to save up my pennies for Photoshop.
That's a really nice render Sartori! I really like the long skirt.
What version of PSP are you running right now? I have PSP 8 and if you click on the brush and go to "presets" on your toolbar, there's an option called "lawn"(I think "grass" would be more appropriate, but until I'm empress of the world such things are beyond my control )
I suck at any sort of digital art, but here's what I came up with just horsing around.
Keep up the good work! Let us know when you're ready to be badgered for art

Here is my interpretation of Pyrria's mysterious and mystical ShadowDruid.
I took some liberties with her costume, namely by putting her in a dress and adding a cloak. Not that there's anything wrong with her in-game costume, but when I first tried this image with pants and sans cloak, it didn't have the look I was going for. Thanks, Pyrria for granting me the creative license to do so. I hope you like it!
