Suichiro's Guide to BURN! (Fire/Dark Corruptors)
The build still holds up in i14 as well as it held up in i6. A few things have changed, but most all the info here is still applicable.
Of note, IOs can make your Fire/Dark experience much easier, allowing you to not have to choose between debuff or mez, since you can get them both. And having access to easy +recovery and +end set bonuses make the end heavy combination much easier to deal with.
Flares got a strong buff and it is now a much better option for a Fire/Dark who's having boss problems. Flares makes for a great filler in a single target chain and it animates fast enough to not slow you down while conserving end.
Stealth IOs make it possible to gain total invis with any of the travel pools so Super Speed is no longer the travel power of choice for the stealthers out there. And Jump Kick is now a relatively decent pool attack power, though Air Superiority is still... well, superior.
Shadow Fall becomes a hotbed of IO madness, since it takes both Res and Def IOs, making it your solution to almost all your needs. It will take a +tohit IO, either type of KB resist, Mez resist unique, Res/Def unique and so forth. It's just fantastic all around.

The Guide to BURN
I LOVE THIS BUILD!!! I rolled a FB/DM corr 2 days ago, and I'm already at 21. Just one question though, I tend to hum and haw over the power pools, what about the med/leadership pools? (I understand that presence is unnecessary =P) GUIDE TO BURN FTW!!! \m/
A case could be made for Leadership; the +Def from Maneuvers would stack nicely with the ToHit debuffs in your Dark powers. But it's not a huge amount of defense (somewhere around 4% slotted) so unless you've got a build that has a lot of +Def to stack with it, it won't be that hugely helpful. And there's the End draining aspect of having another toggle; I skipped it.

Presumably, the slotting strategy outlined in Post #6 makes use of either SOs or non-set IOs. Do I have that right or am I missing something?
Either will work. This guide was originally written in 2006, shortly after the launch of I7, before there was such a thing as IOs.
I9 and IOs came almost a year later.

I was just trying to get a feel for the build in terms of what to generally expect from its performance is all. I'll follow that with the notion that such a feel is probably best obtained through direct testing in the game through a combination of trial-and-error and specific reference to this thread.
Hmm....would this still mostly apply in i13?
