Killing Stalkers for Blasters Without Perception
I think it's great that you are trying to figure out ways to win against stalkers but there are so many limitations on this it's not even funny. The only nukes I'm familiar with are from my fire corruptor and blaster and my AR blaster ( AR and Elec are kinda screwed here) and the fire nuke has a good delay before it goes off. Also, 3/4 of the stalker secondaries have excellent AoE defense even out of hide and the 1 that doesn't is regen. I guess if this is all you can really do then it's not bad advice but I wouldn't feel confident using this tactic.
nitpick: stalkers don't have holds. They do have status effects on their melee attacks though.
[ QUOTE ]
Not to mention the Energy stalkers have a hold (whose genius idea was that?). And if you've ever gotten to duel a Stalker with them agreeing to not use hide, you know they're defenses can be slotted to make them a royal pain to fight.
[/ QUOTE ]
How are you gonna ask a stalker to not use hide in an arena match, Stalkers' core power is hide, that is how their AT was built and works, there are ways around this ie Tactics, Drones, and ofcourse yellows. Asking him to not use hide is like asking a dom to not use holds or asking a corr to not use aim, or their core attack power.
[ QUOTE ]
_Castle_ suggested running backwards when you hear build up go off and while that may work, the way you have your volumes set and if the Stalker hits build up right behind you or just before he reaches you can stop his strategy.
[/ QUOTE ]
Finally, I hope all those nerf stalker haters, read this the secret combination to avoid AS is actually hitting the buttons W, A, S, or D.
[ QUOTE ]
Most people say you need perception and to see them BEFORE AS goes off this is true. But what about if you don't want to or aren't able to take Leadership? Not every Blaster has a perception power and inspirations don't stay on forever.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats why there is an insp vendor in the pvp zones. And, thats why you group with someone which does have tactics.
[ QUOTE ]
So you're minding your own business, picking on the Corrupters and such when WHAM! you see the bid red letters spelling ASSASSIN STRIKE and your health turns red. The Stalker then follows up with his second attack and you're dead.
[/ QUOTE ]
I prefer da tp foe bu ET placate AS, but only stalkers who know what they are doing do that. (this process varies from player to player)
[ QUOTE ]
Stalkers are squishy. Only 1 out of 10 are regen so 8 out of 10 will die (depends on how highly defense is slotted which is why Aim is a recommended power). If that didn't kill him use that End inspiration and quickly follow up with you're short range high damager and dance on his corpse!
[/ QUOTE ]
Dont forget that the whole time u r a squishie too and that us EM stalkers have disorients n stuns and repels. thats just a minor reason, the main 1 is u won't hit us cuz of the very common /nin, /sr, /ea templates.(well atleast the ones where the player knows what hes doin heh =)
[ QUOTE ]
Like every Stalker strategy there are downsides and all seem to require Inspirations. This strategy also requires your being in Warburg and your nuke being recharged. This was done on a fire Blaster whose DoT damage was able to finish off some more resilient Stalkers so additional end and maybe acc insps may be needed to finish your foe. When Recluses Victory comes, Rise of the Pheonix will become a Stalker's nightmare if you slot for a nice disorient. Just remember one thing about Stalkers, if you can keep them from going back into hide, you can kill em.
[/ QUOTE ]
ok hehe, my final critique, notice how the name of your guide is Killing Stalkers for Blasters Without Perception and using acc inspirations (i.e. yellows) buffs your +perceptions. But overall, I think that your guide isn't too bad, and its good to see someone trying to find a new approach to surviving against us stalkers. WTG bro =)
Another tactic is to pop the green after AS (quick reflexes needed), select the stalker and hit an attack as they placate. Since you queued the attack it'll go off anyway, knocking em outta hide and allowing you to wail on em. Work out how many greens to hit to survive the 2 hit combo but still have defiance running.
If there is any critique on my critiques, id really like to hear em. So please reply away.
The stalker doesn't always placate. Sometimes he follows up with an immediate quick damage attack to take out the blaster fast.
Just goin down the list here.

Which is why Stalkers are difficult to kill. Some can't/won't change their build for Perception and Accuracy Inspirations need to be bought. If you're in Warburg you'd have to leave the zone if you were already 39+ when I6 came out and you'd lose any codes you had collected.

Which is why you do it as you see them slowly disappear and run at you from Placate. AS has a delay to and if they hit it to soon after moving in they'll be interrupted giving you MORE time for Inferno to go off.

That is why I said use Build Up and/or Aim. Both give an accuracy bonus and should be large enough to let you hit the Stalker. I haven't missed yet and there are no acc (yet) slotted into my nuke (waiting for a few more HO's.)
If you don't feel confident with this tactic thats understandable. It takes a little practice and a little luck but when you see that Stalker on the ground your work had paid off. Even if for the rest of the night he chases you and never leaves you alone (I've had this happen. Careful bout ruining a Stalker's PvP 1337 feel )

Sorry. I know they use some Total Focus like power. Maybe its a stun. Slot that for a long lasting effect though and it might as well be.

He wanted to prove he could kill people without hide. His defenses were slotted so well I could barely touch him! It was a consensual dual that had some restrictions (I had to give up a power as well)
[ QUOTE ]
Stalkers' core power is hide, that is how their AT was built and works,
[/ QUOTE ]
And that is the only real problem with Stalkers. They work perfectly but in their perfection they are VERY difficult to fight. Any tweaking could satisfy the complainers but break the Stalkers.

Read my guide again. Some people can't/won't change their powerset and there is no magic "Fill My Tray With Yellows!" button so this is a way to play without those.

The thing with the CoX power execution is, while the Stalker is crouching for the attack, that is just yor chance to interrupt him. Once he has AS started you have not much to do cept A. Interrupt him, or B. run backwards. I think the point of moving backwards is you will bump into the Stalker and interrupt him. Moving forwards you'll just look really cool as you die.

Personally I think that would make you an easier target to let us know you're there first by using TP foe but I have never fought someone using that strategy.

That will break Placate and make em run but it may not kill em. Most Stalker I fight use Super Speed for that extra stealth bonus. Also what if you miss? Now you have no time left for the Nuke! Nice alternative though.

Actually, Super Speed doesn't give an extra stealth bonus in PvP.
Save the drama for yo' mama.
Odd. I used to (with IR Goggles) only be able to see Stalkers without Super Speed, or at least it seeemed that way. Oh well.

bu tpfoe ET placate AS or tpfoe bu ET placate AS combo rock and you are very wrong in saying that it would make me an easier target when in 2 hits ur done hehe. Seriously ask people from your best pvp VG about it. They should agree with me, if they really are the best pvp vg on your server =P or just hit up freedom SC BB or Warburg, chances are youll e probably see me in their.

Hm. Maybe not a target but when I see that TP Foe flash I'll do one of two things, 1. Build Up, Aim, Inferno (see guide) or 2. RLH (Run like hell) ... errr FLH (Fly like hell)

This has worked every time I've done it. It'll take you having a decent nuke (WAIT DON'T YOU DARE LEAVE THIS GUIDE!) and an inspiration or 3.
Stalkers are a Blaster's (or any other squishy's) worst nightmare. If they don't one shot you the first time the second attack always is too close behind it for you to run.
Not to mention the Energy stalkers have a hold (whose genius idea was that?). And if you've ever gotten to duel a Stalker with them agreeing to not use hide, you know they're defenses can be slotted to make them a royal pain to fight.

My guide doesn't require pereception, just get in that paranoid state of mind and remember you're in a PvP zone which means its filled with Stalkers using the /hide command.
Ok so here is what you need: End inspirations, Health inspirations, build up and/or aim, a good damage Nuke.
So you're minding your own business, picking on the Corrupters and such when WHAM! you see the bid red letters spelling ASSASSIN STRIKE and your health turns red. The Stalker then follows up with his second attack and you're dead.
That is what USED to happen every time. Lets try it again. Picking on Corrupters, the big WHAM! and now... pop those health inspirations! good now as he placates you for shot 2 hit build up/aim watch him fade and close in then nuke him!
Stalkers are squishy. Only 1 out of 10 are regen so 8 out of 10 will die (depends on how highly defense is slotted which is why Aim is a recommended power). If that didn't kill him use that End inspiration and quickly follow up with you're short range high damager and dance on his corpse!
