Feature Lag is hard on roleplayers
I PMed States about scrappers getting energy aura once. I won't reveal his very breif reply to avoid hersay and rumor. Lets just say I am not hopefull..
::Sigh::
I haved wanted an energy aura type powerset since.. forever! I used regen as sort of stand in because I didn't like SR or Inv. My regenner doesn't regen. She has a.. protective energy feild.. or something.
If he's supposed to be the alternate version of the little brother, who is a good guy, why not make him a bad guy...? EM/EA brute ftw.
Character index
I created an Eng Eng brute, for a Role Play story, who is the brother of a hero who is an Erg Erg blaster. In order to keep with the Power Set of the family, but have him be "Tanker" like, i went with a brute. For RP story lines, He is undercover in the Rogue Isles, getting intel, etc...
But when the time comes, that you can cross over characters from CoH to CoV, and vice versa, he will become a hero through that Story Arch / TF. Which in stories will be him coming out of Deep Cover / Assignment.
Just an Idea
You can probably skip this post if you don't have interest in soap-opera-like roleplay stories.
I'm thinking of making a new character.
A few of my characters are connected to each other by a shared back story. They attend the same school and know many of the same people.
One of my characters is an NRG/NRG blaster. She's a teenage mutant from a large family. Her mutant powers allow her to control space, subconciously warping it, teleport, and draw blasting power from a psuedo-scientific version of 'zero-point energy'. Despite her mutant origin, she comes from a line of witches. None of the rest of her family seem to have any mutant powers, but one or two of them do have hints of magical powers.
She's fought on a few occasions to protect her younger brother. He is not yet, but has the potential to be, a powerful mage.
The blaster character has also had run-ins with a group of magical girls. They originally attacked my blaster because they thought she was an evil gueen from a parallel universe they had fought in the past. (Typical faire for both magical-girl stories and super-hero comics.) After ending the conflict on amicable terms, the magical girls discovered that virtually everyone they fought from the alternate universe has a 'good twin' on Earth. They would simply have to deal with the knowledge that they would probably meet more people who looked like murderous villains they had once fought and now believed dead.
More than one of my villain characters is a former inhabitant of this 'Negative' world, including a sinister Stone/NRG Brute and his psychotic lackey, a thorn/plant dominator.
Why not create a character who is one of the few 'good' Negative World versions of one of my heroes' allies? I've already done quite a few villains from this particular story-offshoot.
I returned to the concept of the little brother who had not yet become a powerful mage.
His alternate universe twin would be a science-based character rather than a magical character. Ideally, he would be an NRG/NRG melee type, with teleportation powers to mirror the powers of his alternate sister...
Crap. I can't make an NRG/NRG scrapper or tank. The Energy Aura powerset has not yet been made available for heroes.
Poop.
